Wayne And Lupe - The New Jay Z And Nas?

I don't know about this one but the peeps at Exclusive Revolution
wrote a report about it.

I won't say that Wayne is the new Jay though.
No way.

Here's a part of it:

Through his rhymes and swagger, Lil Wayne carries himself as confident as one Shawn Carter. Calling himself “The Greatest Rapper Alive”, Wayne has released an output almost similar to the late Tupac Shakur. In 200, Wayne had numerous guest appearances on some of the biggest hits of 2007, remaining relevant without even releasing a studio album. he is the protypical emcee for the younger generation using witty (sometimes nonsensical) lines to reach his fanbase and beyond while also talking about the ideas that are so prevalent in today’s music (murder, hustling, misogny, drugs, money, cars).

Lupe Fiasco, however, carries himself extremely humble with a quiet confidence. He confidently proclaims himself to be a nerd, displaying his intelligence through his rhymes and refusing to conform to the norm. He doesn’t drink, smoke or go to clubs as typical young men do. Though only 26, Lupe Fiasco is an old-school emcee that arrived in this generation, but is so far ahead of his time. Instead of rapping about similar topics that 85% of rappers nowadays rhymes about, he creatively rhymes about the listeners that plague the world and about things he likes (skateboards, Japansese manga, etc.)

  2. As far as the blog, I feel like in terms of them being the next Jay and Nas, Lupe is pretty close, but the thing about Wayne & Jay is I mean he's the majority of the people's choice for best rapper right now. Know what I mean? Like when Jay was making MILLIONS and Nas kinda was hanging out behind him.

  3. hmmmm... thats a way to think of it, but Wayne will NEVER be a Jay, EVER... but then again, Wayne has Jay's Fans basically, no matter what he says on track now.. he will sell... thats how Jay Z was, no matter what he says on track, he will sell, and Lupe like Nas, didnt do too well with Sales like Jay did, but it took him a bit longer to reach the Platinum status. So I dont know, but for the longest, Jay and Nas have been considered GREAT and still are, but if the title is going to pass down to Lupe and Wayne, I see it possible... I dont know, Im just rambling now, Nas is the greatest of all time, Lupe is following his footsteps...

  4. i was looking at a forum on this yesterday and i agree. weezy has that commercial sound like jay has and lu has that contemplativeness about him [if that's a word...lol]. they're both good at what they do even though i don't really like weezy that much. i can see them being the future jay and nas
