This one comes from Failure.
Some of the lyrics in this song can relate to so many situations in life.
it's been stuck in my head all week.
"I remember I ain't have sneakers,
It was welfare,
Coming up for "Airs" like
Whales there,
Fila's
But now I'm well here,
I'm Shamu with twelve pair,
and n*gg*s wanna take me back to zero, like Tare, fair.
Well my scales clear, your "see" world is braille here..."
It was pretty hard picking only one part of this song.
The lyrics are incredible.
and for the people that don't know,
Tare = the weight of an empty container..therefore making it zero.
here's the song, just incase you haven't heard it,
or want to hear it for the millionth time.
or want to hear it for the millionth time.
There are so many great references in the track
ReplyDeletelike the Ralph Lauren line or the Interscope/Jimmy Iovine part.
great track
you got tare wrong... tare resets a digital scale to zero
ReplyDeleteto clear it up
ReplyDeleteTare = weight, sometimes called unladen weight, is the weight of an empty vehicle or container. By subtracting it from the gross weight (laden weight), the weight of the goods carried (the net weight) may be determined.
the sickest part is the shamoo line...cuz that was def. a pair of tier zero air force 1s....genius certified
ReplyDeletethis song straight changed my life!
ReplyDeletegave me a new favorite MC and shit...put it and Spray Paints on Boogie Bang 1 and the rest is history.
Lupe hosting Boogie Bang 7=highlight of my DJ career so far...

Most Lyrical Track in hip hop history. so many metaphors/great wordplay in this song
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say most lyrical track in hip hop history (I think Dumb it Down is better, but not by much). Definitely one of my fav. Lu tracks (especially his flip on The Usual Supsects and Verbal Kint = Sweeeet)
ReplyDeleteSean, look out on my site soon. I'm going my candidates for top ten emcees of all time. I got a feeling our very own COOL emcee will be featured...

ReplyDeletewas this a bonus on 1 of his cd's? I never heard it before
ReplyDelete"This is top flo/better look out below/Pennies from heaven/ is the same as a semi from second/And i reign supreme/Turn yo umbrellas upside down/Did you even catch the change in theme?"
ReplyDeletebest line period.
