On December 3rd the nominees for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards will be revealed at the Nokia Theatre in L.A. . Eventhough awards are not the reason why Lupe makes his music, I think I can speak for every Lupe fan if I say that I hope that Lupe will be nominated in as much categories as possible. Someone who continues to create great music, like he does, just deserves to be nominated for, and to win, the biggest prize that the music industry has to offer.
And lets be honest, if we look at the past year and the albums that have been released, Lupe's "The Cool" was definitely the stand-out Hip Hop record. Unfortunately we are not the ones who are going to decide about the nominations. Let's just hope that the people in charge make the right decisions. Now to the final point, what do you think...how many times will Lupe be nominated ?

lupe fiasco will in no way be nominated for song of the year...that's absurd. I love the lil nigga (no homo), but that won't happen. Not only was it not THAT big, but rappers don't get nominated for song of the year

I'm not saying that he will get the nomination, just saying that it's a possibility due to the impact that song has on people.
those don't count. A) Kanye West is bigger than life and it was a rap song about Jesus and B) Eminem has sold more albums than any singer right now in the game including Britney Spears. Lupe is a normal rapper, they ARE superstars.
ReplyDeleteSuperstar doesn't really have that big of an impact on people outside of Lu's fanbase. Sure it was a well performing single, but it just wasn't that big, especially in the year that Viva La Vida dropped. I'm fairly certain that'll be the song to beat at the grammy's.
and to clarify, I'm not hating. Lupe is MY favorite artist BUT in the scope of all music, he's just not that big. There is a slim chance he'll get nominated, simply because they owe him, but he won't WON't win. I could see best rap album and song and I think sung/collab is a lock unless Jay/Coldplay snakes its way in. I feel like he'll get robbed for hip hop artist of the year and album of the year, on some bullshit most certainly.
