Billie Holiday - Lover Man
Fiasco on Billie Holiday: “She's one of my heroes, my icons. She didn't have the greatest voice, compared to Sarah (Vaughan) and Ella (Fitzgerald), but she always had a certain kind of pain she conveyed. And she was a tough lady who knocked out sailors in bars! She was a gangsta!' ”
Tom Waits - Big In Japan
Fiasco on Tom Waits: “He's a master storyteller and performer, both on and off stage. He has a certain approach, which is very guttural and sloppy, but also very controlled. I love his (1975 album) 'Nighthawks at the Diner,' and (1999's) 'Mule Variations,' which has 'Big in Japan' and 'Chocolate Jesus' on it.
I"m taken aback..... Billie is GOOOOD music any day.... my favorite would have to be strange fruit.... it get's no better....
ReplyDeleteyo i can barely even listen to that song, it's so damn sad
ReplyDeleteBillie Holiday is amazing...but Tom Waits...his voice is so creepy and haunting...he creates great songs though.
ReplyDeleteWOW, Tom Waits!?! I already loved Lupe. But damn he likes Tom too. Great music tastes think a like. Waits is the GOAT and if Lupe sticks around he'll be GOAT too.
