^^ you probably think the same about Kanye's album....or in general about all artists who switch their style a bit.
ReplyDeleteYea-i agree with sean- most people say they didnt like kanye's album but i loved it. It was like Sade meets Kanye-a soothing lyric- i cant speak on Common yet or Q-tip- but im sure there nice.
ReplyDeleteI ordered it on amazon as x-mas present for myself ;)
ReplyDeleteThey will deliver it between 18th and 23rd december. I can't wait.
Be is still my fav albu, UMC is still dope tho!!
ReplyDeleteehh this album wasn't all that. many songs just didn't sound good, it disappointed me. UMC was good, and gladiator, punch drunk love were good, but overall... not so much. Not garbage, but way below common's level of skill.
ReplyDeletei for one did like 808s sean :) change up in style just ain't always good for everyone..
9/10, Be is better but i like it more than Finding Forever. I dont know why people are hating on it...its a mad dope album.
ReplyDeleteYeah, "Be" is a classic album..and it'll still be dope 10 years from now...
ReplyDeletethis one is more of an album with a sound that is dope right now. I think it's cool that he did an album wiht some tracks you can play in a club and people can just dance to...
and I'm sure he'll be switching it up again on his next album.
man i can't give this more than a 7.5, because to me Be was a 10, and Finding Forever was like a 8.5. I feel like the Neptunes slept through some of the beats (didn't give it their all) and Common didn't ride alot of them very well. It's also really strange to hear Common bragging about himself being the shit. I kinda feel like he really just wanted to do well commercially with this one, but to me his rapping has been on a downslide since he started focusing more on acting...
ReplyDeletejust my 2 cents
cuz to me this isn't the same as Kanye's experimentation on 808s, because he had a purpose and a statement to make with that, whereas I feel common just wanted some "shit they could bump in the clubs"
haven't the Neptunes been falling asleep on almost ever beat the have made since The Black Album(except ones for their own albums)
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting for me to read this blog. Thanx for it. I like such topics and anything connected to them. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.
