Ok...so Lupe didn't win any this year. Weezy won in the categories: "Best Rap Solo Performance", "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Album". Estelle and Kanye won in the category "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration".
Additionally the award for "Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group" went
to T.I., Jay-Z, Weezy and Kanye for "Swagger Like Us"

ReplyDeleteLupe did deserve the Grammy for Best Rap/Sun Song and he deserves it for Rap Album of the Year, either him or Nas. Jay's album was just another reason for Jay to rap about drug dealing again and while it was a great album, it wasn't a classic.

wow that sucks. i was surprised i never expected the academy to go with wayne for lollipop. it's a commercial song, and commercial tracks are just flat out not musically inclined, and many artists admit as such.. i guess it was the static major influence, but like someone said, i STILL don't know who he was. i don't see him winning album.
