i dont like cudi at all, listened to his mixtape and he is not a dope rapper he doesnt say ANYTHING amazing,day and night was good but only the beat and chorus not his verses cleveland was good but only the instrumental you people are just riding the hype train jumping on tha ,andwagon he gonna be tha next wayne all hype but dont have talent to back it up dude is average wale, blu, mickey factz, and charles hamilton can rap better

ReplyDeleteBUT, I still love Kid Cudi. :) IMO he doesn't have the skills of those other guys, but he's still good in his own way. I love his voice, his half-rapping/half-singing stuff, and he's just really captivating to me. I know those aren't valid reasons for making him a good rapper of anything, but I just think he's cool. I like his muic.

um...Jamal...have you ever listened to Common freestyle? ever? more than once? he uses canned lines over and over again and throws in one or two lines off the top to make it seem like a freestyle. Mos Def can freestyle. Em, Canibus, Fabolous...freestylers. Not common.

Charles Hamilton can rap better than this cat, but not by that much... At least CH tries to do proper freestyles, he's not the ebst, but he's having fun with it and that I can respect.
Cudi just goes and fucking sings instead of doing a proper freestyle.
When he said he was retiring I thought he had understood how less than mediocre he was, but then he decides not to.

ReplyDeleteI think it would make for a great collab. I'm glad that this hip hop is moving towards another direction. It took a long a** time to if you think about it. Lupe was the first to show it 2 years ago, but he didn't really blow up like he should. Cudi's creativity, and swag is making him big. He's not as good a rapper as lupe or wale, but he makes good songs, and his hooks are dope. His new album is the best hip hop album of the year, hands down. With 88 keys coming in a close second. I'm a huge hip hop head but i listen all types other stuff as well. And to me it seems like the new artists coming out are the same. Exmpls: Ash roth, 88 keys, B.O.B., Charles Hamilton, KID CUDI, I can be secure in saying Hip hop is not dead, it's just changing and in a good way.

I like lupe. He kills it when he raps. I've liked him for a while now. Kid cudi is dope. I heard his new album and its different but sick. If they work together they will kill the track. I thought hip hop was taking a turn for the worst but 2009 proved me wrong. I have great expectations for 2010.
