  14. Why Lupe?

What a waste of time. I can't see Lupe on a track with this guy. All he makes is dance tracks. :S

  15. I see myself having to extract Lupe's verse from the song...lol

  17. the people advocating for soulja boi are not really presenting a good a case. You are actually backing up the reasoning why all of us are very hesitant when we hear soulja and lupe on the same song. Obviously lu is extremely open mined to work with soulja boi. I am actually a strong soulja boi hater and I am proud of it. He can write a pretty good hook and come up with some alright beats but his content level is at zero. Lets not forget one of his latest songs had an entire verse consisting almost solely on duh nu duh nu duh duh . . . . Soulja boi has no lyrical content what-so-ever and there is no ifs ands or buts about that. I support lu but that def wouldnt be a song I would buy but i'd give it a listen before i kick it to the curb.

  18. this could be good
maybe soulja boy will stop making gay music

  19. if soulja boy did the hook and only the hook itd be ok at best.

  21. @Jamez youre an idiot, Soulja Boy since day one said all he does is party music, music for ppl to dance to, to party to, to just have fun to.. not once did he say he wants to be the next Nas, the next Hov, the next Lupe... Soulja boy music is soulja boy music... not meant to inspire, not meant to make you think, not meant for you to break down...

Thats why ppl hate Soulja boy because they see him as that type of artist when he is far from it...

let the dude make music, let him grind, you gotta respect his grind 100%

    ReplyDelete
  22. ^^ that makes sense.

I think even Lupe respects Soulja Boi's grind, but Soulja Boi may not be making the right choice by having Lupe on the track with him.

The crowd that primarily listens to Soulja Boi may be like, "Yo, what's with this Lupe guy?", and could bring the wrong kind of attention to Soulja Boi. At least, that's how I see it.

  23. honestly u cant respect soulja boy musicly because u got people that are acctualy good at rapping and get no shine now soulja boy got lucky off of 1 song and he even said him self he wasnt serious about rapping so fuck his grind people out here strugling and tryin too make it and its been provin that he got lucky he went platnuim on the first album the second FLOP!!!!!!!! hard and too all the people bitchin about lupe doin a track wit him o well u would do it too if u were getting paid too do a track wit soulja boy all i know lupe better not come out and say hip hop is fucked up its like dude u did a track wit soulja bouy shut the hell up and was lupe talkin about hip hop on dumb it down?????? sounds like a hypocrite too me

  24. JayLee, there's no such thing as getting "lucky" when it comes to album sales in the sense that you're talking.
Rappers don't "luckily" sale albums. People consciously buy albums, meaning that since his second record was a flop, everybody (for the most part) simply lost interest.

Also, as Rhymestyle previously stated that Soulja Boi set out to make dance/party music, you CAN credit him musicly for the fact that he went platinum.

Even with all of this in mind, my previous post still stands... haha.

  25. im glad lu is doin this soulja boy sucks but this will so the MAINSTREAM how dope lupe is why lu MURDERS soulja on his on track i see this as nonthing more than a strategic career move and a smart one at that the music biz is fed up and you gotta do what you gotta do to get you mainstream appeal up as long as he dont put no wack shit out im happy

  26. From Lu himself:

"I ain't a saint. Never claimed to be. But I did believe in ideals and I believed in "Us". And I fought for "Us". I continue to wage war against "Them". Sacrificing wealth and fame for the sake of the state of mind of "Us". I started to realize in the course of my career that "Us vs. Them" is now "Us vs. Us"."

    ReplyDelete
  27. @ Anonymous yeah I could see this as a good career strategy since most of the younger demography
these days are digging Soulja Boi and as crazy and stupid as it sounds a co-sign from Soulja could boost Lu into more peoples playlists who don't usually listen to the Fiasco.
@ Haruud damn fam that was crazy "Us vs Us" Like a Dog eat Dog world. You try and help each other make it but on the path to success and fame you end up at each others throats
That's how it is for most people they lose sight of the friends and family that helped them get where they are and let the toxins of the fast life get into their blood.

  28. wow that was a punch in the stomach but hey he got a mind of his own... definitely changes my perspective on Lu rather than Soulja Boy tho... ahh ruined my night... this hurts

  29. hopefully this is just soulja boy saying crap, like how he wants to work with Jigga and Kanye too..

  30. Didn't Lupe say awhile back that he respects Soulja Boy and what he does on his grind?

It'd be a great move on Soulja Boy's part to get these three artists on his album, they'd raise his cred up. Didn't he get T.I. on a joint? Also, Lupe on a Soulja Boy dance hit could bring much needed exposure, and we all know Lupe wouldn't put out a weak verse, no matter the style of track.

    ReplyDelete
  31. all yall hate Soulja Boy, but yall all comment on a post about him. lol. Soulja Boy will be worried when yall finally stop talking about no matter what yall saying!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. "respecting his grind" Respect or not, it doesnt change the fact that he's a terrible rapper and lacks any substance.

good career move: ...what? didn't his last album do terrible? SB was a ringtone fad, and thats about it.
