  1. he's looked over for the same reason Mos Def is over looked... they don't rap about the usual.

  2. Im already biased because Im a BIG Lupe...but Ive got a real funny feeling that 2010 may just be the year Lupe gets hes props...universally.

Im just being real. Im sure most people will say yeah Lupe will kill it in 2010 blah blah blah, but Im not talking like that.

I just have the hinest belief that Lupe will have a really good year. And unlike most of artists in Hip Hop his 1st week will be + 100,000 units. I know I shouldnt mention sales projections but I genuinely think Lupe wont suffer.

That fact that 'Shinning Down' went under the radar was part of the plan. He performed it EVERYWHERE. All hes underground fans know about it, so when he kicks off wth his commercial single his gonna get it in. Remember, M.Santos said that his concentrating on recording BIG performance songs that he can rock crowds with, which should go down well at radio.

Plus the pubilicity he'll get from the mountian climb will add to it.

  3. ^^^^Real Talk, I have said it several times....mark my word,
"2010 will be the year of the Lu" I just hope his essence remains the same.

  4. Also, I didnt know M. Santos said that Lu is concentrating on recording BIG performance songs to rock crowds. That almost sounds like what Kanye said about "graduation". Let me find out L.A.S.E.R.S. might be a "graduation" with a Lu slant to it! I would not be entirely mad about that but like said before, I just hope Lu's essence remains the same. It seem like after the tremendous success of graduation...Kanye changed. While he was still hot, he just wasnt that same Ye that I came to admire and love. BTW, I am lookin to deep into it. I am happy that people are recognizing that Lu is the truth!

    ^^^Erm... please elaborate.

  6. Lupe's already famous and gets huge props...Selling out shows with thousands of people in the audience at a time and headlining such high budget shows; the reason Atlantic starting pushing him was that he started getting props. The most venerable underground artists rarely get as much attention as Lupe. I honestly miss the days when I could talk about him in the same manner as Brother Ali, Eyedea, etc., when he WASN'T famous. Face it, everybody is on his dick now that his music is getting more and more mainstream.

  8. Hi Im the guy that posted the oringinal comment about thae fact that I felt Lupe will have a big 2010.

    I stated:

"M.Santos said that his concentrating on recording BIG performance songs that he can rock crowds with...."

Buy this I meant the songs were gonna be bigger and performanced based, I didnt mean to actual rock crowds per say.

Yeah Santos said it. I actually read it from a link (from this site) to an interview he gave not to long ago. Id look for it but I cant be bothered. lol

    Blk.LDN.....

  9. "That fact that 'Shinning Down' went under the radar was part of the plan"

    ^^^Erm... please elaborate.

Well...dont get me wrong. I think at 1st it wasnt. Like Lupe said, Atlantic didnt support it AT ALL.

BUT!! Lipe Lu said, it got to 93 on the US charts mostly from digital downloads etc. and NO RADIO PLAY AT ALL.

Still yet he scored a place on a soundtrack (lets face it) for (teeny bopper heaven) film of the year New Moon. Apprently the songs somewhere in the movie. And they have shot a video for it.

Atlantic went ahead with the re-design of his Cisco-Eos powered site before a few OR EVEN along side other artists that have JUST RECENTLY RELEASED ALBUMS like Sean Paul & Trey Songz.

I think they're gonna play on the fact that Lupe is unique. I think they're gonna make sure Lu is on B.o.B's LP as well. Its gonna be a good year. God Willing.

  17. 150K as far as sales is considered average now a days. 50 sold around 160K IIRC, and people said he flopped.

I'n hoping for at least 250K-300K. But that is probably too optimisitc.

  18. IDK Y this popped into my head but....I WOULD LOVE TO SEE TUBESTEAK "EXPOSE" LUPE LOL!

  19. if his buzz continues to build through the mixtapes like it has in the past couple weeks and the first single is a "Superstar" level hit then he could do possibly 300k which is double wat "Thee Cool" did its first week. Cuz i think he has definetely gained more support in the hip hop world and more fans since the last album came out its first week

    ReplyDelete
  20. i mean 300k in the first week for LASERS

  21. Asking why "hip hop" doesn't give props to Lupe is looking at hip hop as if it were the average mainstream listener.

I'm pretty sure any rapper or producer in the game would agree that Lupe is fire (if they heard his music).

    ReplyDelete
  22. the song is actually pretty good but does does anyone see any similarities to "yoga flame" flow-wise?

    ReplyDelete
  23. So what is Atlantic doing to do to promote Lasers? The whole reason is got pushed back is because they didn't do shit to promote it yet. Doesn't seem like they have done anything so far.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Is it obvious that Atlantic isn't tryna promote LASERS because Lupe is exposing the truth about this world and this government.

I dnt knw I could be wrong but that's my take on it.

  25. RIVA GET BACK TO YOUR MIXTAPE ANALYSIS THX! LUPE THE GOAT! YEAH I SAID IT.
He don't think he best but I think hes better than EVERYONE!!!!!

  26. just being real lupe will sell at most 70,000 but i really hope its like 300,000 i really dont like bow wow but i actully listen to doggy bag today lol

  27. ATLANTIC JUST HAS TO BELIEVE IN DUDE. HAVE TO TRUST IN ARTIST DEVELOPMENT. HIS FANBASE HAS GROWN SINCE THE COOL ON THE LOW. WISH HE TOOK ADVANTAGE OF THAT AND DROPPED ANOTHER ALBUM THE FOLLOWING YEAR BUT WE'LL SEE. HIS HYPE WILL BUILD. WATCH.

300k + numbers 1st week? up to how good that 1st single and how atlantic and his folks push him

    ReplyDelete
  28. HE ALSO NEEDS TO GET SOME MORE GUEST APPEARANCES OUT THERE. HOPE ON TRACKS WIT EVERYBODY. STEAL THE SHOW ON EVERY TRACK. U KNOW HE WOULD

    ReplyDelete
  29. 70 K? He sold 150 K with The Cool. Dude is selling more then that.

Read that on youtube, thought it was hilarious. He claimed to be a hardcore Wayne fan too.
