Fan Report: Lupe Fiasco - Live in Claremont, CA

Grant Young attended Lupe's concert in Claremont, CA on Friday (03/05/10) and sent us his report/review of the show, check it below!

"This was my fourth time seeing Lupe and I seriously have never seen him so energetic. Wow. He barely did any talking between songs and flowed so fluently into the next song..and the next song…and the next song!

Last time I saw him was at the Nokia Center in 2008, and the most memorable performance back then was Hip Hop Saved My Life. He had so much fire…but this time around he was just VICIOUS..."

"Spittin' every word at the crowd and we spit it right back. All of us where in the stadium standing on the chairs or arm rests of the chairs hollerin' with Lu. The short Asian girl next to me spit them so nice I stopped recording just to watch her go.

My fiance' in the chair in front of me looked back and rapped Go Go Gadget flow with so much excitement (that's why I'm marrying her!), it was crazy.

Then I looked around and saw all the different nationalities Lupe pulled in…Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, they were all there…singing along with him.

Every new song he did made me want his album to come out already! Even Solar Midnite was tight!!! I can't even figure out which song I enjoyed the most, National Anthem, Kick Push, I'm Beamin', I don't know!!

Lupe’s a beast and all those reviews about him seeming too rock n roll now IS STUPID. The boy has fire and marches to the beat of his own drummer!

“He plays the timpani!” Definitely the best I've ever seen him...he commanded every aspect of his performance, throwing punches in the air to the kick drum, even getting crowds to scream louder by comparing us to Australia.

Lupe the Killer!"

  1. B.o.B and Lupe together was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it. Even when I was the only one in the vicinity spitting along with B.o.B. I've seen Lupe seven times and this had to be the best atmosphere out of all seven. I'm definitely going to see them again when they come back to Los Angeles in May. Lupe's "manager" (the guy selling the shirts in the back) told me they were actually doing two nights in Los Angeles, not just one.
