Zach Galifianakis talks Lupe Fiasco - "I don’t know him."

You might remember that Lupe mentioned Zach Galifianakis in his track "Yoga Flame" from the EOTS Mixtape. NY Mag asked Zach about it, check his response below.

NY Mag: Lupe Fiasco recently used your name in a rap lyric about his own greatness. How do you feel about that?

Zach: I heard that. I haven’t heard the song. I will be happy when Dolly Parton uses me in a song, then I’ve made it. There are a lot of rap guys out there.

NY Mag: And you’re like, Lupe Fiasco, whatever?

Zach: I don’t know him. I don’t know anything about anything. I’m so out of the loop. I haven’t heard the song. Is it a good song?

NY Mag: He said he was the “black rap Zach Galifianakis.”

Zach: He should have said his name was Black Galifianakis. That would have been a better song.

  1. I thought he was using his name to describe lil wayne, sayin wayne only has one liners like galifinakis?

  2. lmao OVER analyzing Lupe's lines ^^

  3. Actually not really.. That's the way I took it too

    ReplyDelete
  4. Me too, especially considering he said. "tears", and Wayne has those tear tattoos.

  5. Hangover was a bit overrated, I like Old School, Wedding Crashers, and Topic Thunder better
    ...SuperBad was hugely overrated

  6. Galifia-who? Never heard of him. Is he funny? Dane Cook funny?

    ReplyDelete
  7. that line was referring to Wayne... I posted in the comments section of NY Mag saying they didn't get the line.

  8. The Lupe Fiasco vs. Lil' Wayne feud doesn't exist, guys. Just throwin' that out there...

  9. hes a pretty funny dude.. heard he was good in that youth in revolt movie too..

    ReplyDelete
  10. lol at people getting mad at dude....stannery!

and i sincerely doubt the line is about wayne...that would imply that Zach G. built a career around one liners...which is simply a logical stretch

  11. you are whoopie golberg lil wayne looks like her

    yeah nigga i wacked it
    baby boy with the glasses
tears like a black rap zach galifinakis

wanye has said "yeah nigga i wacked it" before and in that exact same tone in that exact same way
    wayne is BABY'S boy
    lil wayne have tears
wayne only has one liners like galifinakis?

    rapping over fireman
using a wanye-ish type flow and tone

sounds like a friendly jab to me
    or a diss

    ReplyDelete
  12. ^me again.....also wayne has glasses

    ReplyDelete
  13. his flow wasn't wayne-ish AT ALL.

you are losing at your interpretation.

  14. i think lupe himself needs to come on here and clear the air, we haven't heard from him in awhile in these comments.

    ReplyDelete
  15. loooooool, i would like, whatever, just no diss and im cool..

  16. @pv1: "Galifia-who? Never heard of him. Is he funny? Dane Cook funny?"

Dane Cook isn't funny, he's the opposite.

I don't know if Galifianakis knows Lupe or not, it doesn't matter, this is his character. Watch Between Two Ferns With Zach Galifianakis and you'll get a much better understanding of it.
    Sampe.

Even if he knew Lupe, liked him and was a fan, he'd respond in the same way. This guy is pretty much always in character.

  17. ^^ That's exaclty what i was going to say especially about Dane Cook. To all lupe fans that don't know Galifinakis don't take what he said as a diss at all. Thats just his brand of comedy.

Also if you listen to yoga flame again im pretty sure ya'll will find that the line is:

He is like a black rap Zach Galifinakis

not "tears," it's not a wayne diss

    ReplyDelete
  18. WERD to Mr. Thompson. You all are over-analyzing. Lu's not even the type to diss, why would you assume that? SMH at so called "fans."

    ReplyDelete
  19. @Jamal
Lmao, I'm sorry if I offended ur movie but that Mike Tyson part wasn't funny at all, thats the only overrated part, I thought it was gonna suck but it didn't just that part did...the tiger was still funny tho

  20. what other stuff the only thing that is Wayne-ish about that song is that it's the fireman beat...Baby boy with the glasses refers to Zach galafinakis and the baby as you can see in the picture on this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  21. whoever says he isnt coming at wayne is Tweakin he is definitely talking about wayne on that song. Showcasing his skills and ability to switch up his flow to rhyme on any beat he chooses.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ...why must you be profane?

I think at least 3/4 of the people who even care to make posts on this blog know a bit about Lupe, since he's a lot more personal to his fans anyway.

...I've said my bit. And you're the only one who disagrees... so you fall back.

    ReplyDelete
  23. "Baby boy with the glasses" is the baby in the picture of this post

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's not a Diss at Wayne... but he's talking about him the whole way. Come on, we're all Lupe fans, and we all know hes great at long double entendre's where he's talking about 2 things at once.

Lil Wayne wears glasses, he has tear tattoos, he is Baby's boy, and he looks like Whoopi Goldberg, and a "black rap zach galifanakis." You really think lupe is calling himself a black zach galifinakis??? No.

So I don't really see how you can say it isn't a reference. Probly not an attack, I agree with that.

  25. The Lines Go
    "Yeah Nigga I Whacked It/
    Baby Boy With The Glasses/
He Is Like A Black Rap Zach
    Galifinakis/
    Hangover, game over nigga thats
    it/"
If you have seen the movie hangover you should remember the scene where Zachs character puts the glasses on the baby boy and the starts making the boy look like he is jacking off... of course you know whack off can be used in place of jack off..
the meaning of the line is that lupe (whacked) or killed the song, lupe also wears glasses just like the baby boy did, and since he whacked the song that means he is like a black rap Zach galifinakis

  27. By Dane Cook funny I meant not funny at all. I was being sarcastic...

See what the Illuminatti is doing? They have us all turning on each other; arguing over small things. What I'm trying to say is:

Atlantic, give us a release date or a single or something before these e-thugs do something stupid.

    :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. "See what the Illuminati is doing?"

    OH MY GOD... LOL

I almost spit out my breakfast on my laptop. So the Illuminati is behind this? please explain.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Again, sarcasm. It was meant to stop the arguing going on. You know, sarcasm is not that hard to get.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That was rude and pointless. Some people were born without a sense of humor...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Get off Lupe baws... Zach Galifiankis too funny... he killed that SNL monologue.

  32. Check out this article on Zach Galifianakis its good - http://bit.ly/bVknke

  33. @anonymous

I completely agree u put the lines down and that's exactly what I was thinking, everything u said plus he's spitting over Wayne's fireman beat( makes too much sense)...No dissin it's Lupe! pay attn ppl stop tryna make somethin out of nothin..Lupe is hip to the new world order and other "man behind the curtains" actions and he still shouts out those in this category, he's playing the game without any beef, just getting the message out there. I'm not a Stan just speakining my opinion...
