During a conference call earlier today Drake talked a bit about J. Cole (again) and later on said he'd like to do a track with him and Lupe as a bonus for his upcoming album "Thank Me Later." - Listen/DownloadHERE- Shouts toRapRadar
^These kinda comments always trip me out. Could you imagine Lupe feeling the same way?
"Do a song with Drake? Nah... Jimmy can't hang with me. I'm on a whole other level."
Based on his character, the ideas and philosophies prevalent in his music, I just don't see Lupe ever feeling that way. So it's weird to see fellow fans put that kinda energy out there like this...
Wouldn't really be a NUMBER 1 COLLAB but it'd be nice...and to people sayin "oh wel Lupe shouldnt collab with drake he's not as good"...Lupe did a song with Chris Brown..so..
I'm excited somewhat, especially if it's a R&B track
Regardless of what you think of Drake as a solo artist, wouldn't it be a positive thing to collaborate with other artists, if for nothing more than to attempt to create something meaningful and inspiring together? If Lupe decides to do it, don't you think he would want to incorporate those things? It certainly would give Lupe the opportunity to bring his substance and positive messages to a wider audience. It may even bring out a side of Drake we have yet to see. We shouldn't be so quick to dis collaboration, it's where some of the best magic happens in all art forms.
Nah man, this nigga be trippin. Lupe and Cole? In a Bonus?? Brah those are the heavyweights of hip-hop today. And Lupe has Excalibur, ya feel me? Just like Jay Electronica said: "His sword is magnificent."
SMH at Drake. However, it would be good for Lupe. Lupe wouldn't be a sellout if he does a song with Drake. You don't even know what the concept of he song is.
So far, Drake has been able walk the line that's between being mainstream and conscious. I think if he tries, and hangs out with these two, he might pick the right side.
Like Lupe said: "And may the force be with you, like uhn!"
I like Drake. Yeah he may not be as good as lupe or J. cole but you can't deny that he is talented. I think this collab would sound nice. Plus it would open up lupe and j. cole to a wider audience. I hope this happens.
lol, at the anti-Drake comments (they're clearly haters and I'm not a Drake fan, dude is nice though).
I don't know how people can say someone is on a whole other level when it comes to an art form, yeah their talents are different but it's all art.
A form of creativity based on opinion.
I'm sure there are people out there who would pit an artist like Sir-Mix-Alot as #1 over these three, and you wouldn't be able to convince them to change their opinion.
Anyone collaborating with anyone is cool with me, as long as it hasn't been done before (that stuff gets repetitive).
lol this guy knows that ppl are slowly realizing that peeps like Lu and J. Cole are better than him so he wants to do a track with the best to reclaim the tru hiphop head fanbase..
Wow @ some of the Lupe groupies on here... talk about dickryding - this is some next level shit!
Yes, we're all Lupe "fans" but is there need for SUCH dickery? Ya'll are quick to jump at the opportunity to praise Lupe and put down a more 'commercial' artist.
I think it might be a good song but the fact that he wants it to be a bonus track shows how much he really appreciates their talent, while he's putting bullshit artists on the album. He just wants a song with them so he can earn back some of his rep
okay so drake is definitely not as nice as lupe or j. cole but wat does that have to do with him being on a song with them? music is music, if they came out with something i like im still gonna hear it regardless of the fact that drake is not as good as them. Lupe fans act like he is too good to make a song with anybody.
All I know is if Lupe hops on a record with Wheelchair Jimmy he betta go off. Nothin worse than hearing your favorite rapper get sonned by a less talented artist. GTFOH
Lupe would destroy this overrated nigga on his own track. Jimmy can't hang with him or Cole.
ReplyDeletelupe is to good to be doing songs with drake.drakes doin his thing but lupes on a competely other level.
ReplyDelete2 first ppl are lames^^
ReplyDeletea LUPE AND DRAKE SONG WOULD BE THE NUMBER 1 COLLAB THAT HASNT HAPPEN YET THAT I WOULD WANT TO HAPPEN!
^These kinda comments always trip me out. Could you imagine Lupe feeling the same way?

You seriously compared Drake to Chris Brown?
ReplyDeleteBTW, so people are lame because they don't follow the crowd and think Drake is the savior? Dude is overrated and is a sellout.
Drake isn't a Laser like Lupe, he is a loseeeeer haha

ReplyDeleteIt's not something I'd want to hear. Lupe really is too good, lyrically to be in the same song as Drake.
ReplyDeleteBesides, they'd probably make Lu dumb his verse down so Drake fans could keep up with him.
Sounds like a hit but Lupe will kill Drake on his own song,,
ReplyDeleteJust like how Eminem killed Jay-Z on Renegade
But still,, thats a song i want to hear
I highly doubt both of these guys' record labels would allow it...
ReplyDelete^^ drake's not a label dipshit
ReplyDeleteoh and im' sure atlantic records wouldn't want lupe on one of the most anticipated records of the year...you fail
ReplyDeleteLupe and Drake are two different rappers. It'd unfair to compare them. And who said Drake was the Savior of Hip-Hop?
ReplyDelete^ PREACH Anonymous, PREACH!!!

So a
It's funny how everyone thinks Drake wouldn't be able to keep up with Lu and J.Cole....
ReplyDeleteFor the record, this song will happen... It's been in talks for awhile, just time didn't permit it to happen yet...
lupe fans are an embarassment...you don't listen to a single thing you're daddy says do you?
ReplyDeleteI like Drake. Yeah he may not be as good as lupe or J. cole but you can't deny that he is talented. I think this collab would sound nice. Plus it would open up lupe and j. cole to a wider audience. I hope this happens.
ReplyDeleteDrake is fucking nice. Idk what these haters are talking about. If you want to see his lyrical prowess, check out his mixtapes.
ReplyDeletewonder what the song would be about. just curious to know how lupe would deliver on a drake sound
