T.I. is one of my fav. rappers, even though Lupe is my fav. Im not gonna hate on any mainstream songs T.I. made, because whatever you like was actually a good song IMO,and T.I. in general is a really good rapper, I just blame Alantic though on the video debut.
Again I dont understand what part of "Viral video" do people not understand? Number one, the T.I video wasn't a "viral" video, it was made with the purpose to be on MTV Jams/etc....I'm Beamin was just a leak turned into a viral release, meaning "upload on iTunes, and then make a video and let it do its job".... The REAL single, whenever it is released, will be pushed... like actually pushed....
It's how it works...
Also as the 3rd anonymous comment said, T.I is also one of those artists who goes platinum... so yes he is a priority on the label... Accept it
Maybe Lupe should get arrested or make tracks like Whatever You Like, and then he'll get some attention"
SMH...I love Lupe but sometimes his fans say the STUPIDEST things...I mean seriously..? Was the point of that comment to make T.I. seem like a bad guy?
Maybe Lupe SHOULD do that stuff so you can get his god damn dick out your mouth and go find OTHER artist because Lupe isn't the only god damn one.... I can name plenty of artist that are dropping albums/mixtapes that are just as good or EVEN better than Lupe lyrically! Since..you know lyrics is all that matters nowadays so it can be real hip hop..not the entertainment factor. You got to be deep to be a real rapper....smh.
Be HAPPY that Im Beamin is actually going to be on MTV...when it's a viral video! You guys should even be happy that Lupe and the crew made the video for you selfish stans..I mean fans.
I think it is a waste of time for you guys start comparing Lupe in the lyrical debate.
Lupe has matured over the years and now is putting his emphasis on THE MESSAGE.
A lot of those so called lyrical dudes do not really say any thing.
Of course, there are people putting out more lyrical mixtapes/songs... Okay, "Jay Z is more lyrical than Bob Marley" but then again, so what?
Lupe is currently focused on different things and is in his own lane. "I'm out in left field, i'm speaking mentally" "And it hangs from your brain if my chain you caught" "Pull the game up by the brains Could not move it just with brains So I had to use some bling" "sit them next to some pictures of Rosa splitting with her titties out And what's written on her titties is what it's really about"
How may different ways do you want him to say it? You guys are may be LASERS but such a debate is for LOSERS
Okay, "Jay Z is more lyrical than Bob Marley" but then again, so what?
A Better Person Lyrically Than Lupe? I don't think that person lives yet. But Somebody Very very Close... Blu. Even Lupe Said That if there is anyone who he's scared of in thi game it's probably blu. Not exact words but something like that
Paper Trail was a pop album with the majority of the songs made for radio. I mean c'mon, you really think Lu would ever do something like Whatever You Like? "So wet and so tight" GTFO
So no, I don't want Lupe do to that. And I find it sad that is the only way your label pushes you, is if you do make pop bullshit.
This PROVES you guys don't listen to music other than Lupe Fiasco.
Lets see... NAS CIRCA ILLMATIC...
But you're going to say "he's washed up though"
No....he just focuses on the 'message' like one of you guys said before.
And Shad is waaaaaay more lyrical than Lupe Fiasco. Shad would absolutely murder Lupe Fiasco if they were on a track together.
Need some other lyrical people just as good as Lupe? Wale.....what about that one rapper named after a bag of candy...? Point is, Lupe is NOT the most lyrical dude in the game. There are so many more lyrical dudes rapping, just that your blind dick sucking is keeping you from it.
I wouldnt have a problem with anything you guys say since this is a Lupe blog, but once you start bringing OTHER artist and not crediting them correctly or even barely discovering artist such as BLU 3 years after he dropped his album..then that is SHAMEFUL.
I remember someone one day said one day on this blog "I still dont know what Lupe Fiasco was talking about in Dumb It Down".......lol..pitiful. Although the song is entertaining, it isn't impressive lyrics wise because he honestly didnt say anything outside the hook.
You guys suck at fans. You guys are essentially breaking rules 2 and 7 from the lasers manifesto.
And I may be exaggerating when I said "so many more artist" but there is a handful of them that exist..making music..and dropping albums at this very moment...
And to the people who think I'm dissing Lupe, negative. I'm not Lupe because he deserves much moar. The people I am directing this to is you and only you.
I'm gonna stop though. Not gonna reply to anything else because like hd said..this debate is for losers
I've listened to blu's album and didn't think it matched any of lupe's best lyrics. Souls of Mischief are rappers that I would not argue against if someone were to say they are better than lupe.
But like someone said Lupe is putting emphasis on the message. Think about "I'm Beamin." Why do you think the message he is trying to deliver is so clear?
You see, no matter how bad a rapper is, he/she can come up with at least one or two mind blowing puns/metaphors. When it comes down to it it's like can a rapper make a song like "I Gave You Power"-Nas or "Put You On Game"-Lupe Fiasco?
It's about creativity. Don't get me wrong lyrics is still HUGE factor when considering if a rapper is good. That is why I say lupe is the best. It's not just his word play and meatphor that are good it also songs like "Little Weapon" that are lyrical because it tells a story that paints a vivid picture in mind as you listen to the song.
I just hope that lupe's next album lives up to it's name. It better be a great RAP album.
A lot of y'all really do just consistently downplay anyone who ain't Lupe. It's a big genre out there. Immerse yourself in it for a second and you'll see there are plenty of dope verses to be found.
I personally don't know of anyone who's matched Lupe lyrically, but I wouldn't say it's impossible nor would I say there aren't people out there who can come close. I'm just sayin', keep an ear out for J.Cole's debut. You'd be doing yourself a huge injustice to sleep on that.
No one in this post did that though. The other dude brought out names like Wale and fucking Gucci. It doesn't take a dickrider to know they have nothing on Lupe. I mean really, Gucci?
Me personally, I think a guy like Blu is right there with Lupe, But doesn't mean I don't agree with those that say Atlantic ignoring Lupe is complete bullshit.
Ok none of you even stayed on topic. I'm glad Lupe's getting back in the swing of major networks again! Superstar was on rotation all hot-like and then Paris, Tokyo died off quicker than it should :| I'm Beamin' deserves to be on rotation like all that garbage from lesser MCs (in fact, "As We Enter" by Nas and Marley does too) I just hope Beamin' makes it to the radio stations too.
Wow, it only took Atlantic two weeks. Saw I'm Back on MTV Jams the very next day after it was released, smh
ReplyDelete^ TI = multiplatinum superstar

maybe lupe should make atlantic millions by going repeatedly platinum and having like 8 top 10 hits...
Name some artists who are more lyrical then...
ReplyDeletej. cole
ReplyDeletelol @ j.cole
ReplyDeleteim a j.cole fan but hell no, hell cole is barely lyrical
I think it is a waste of time for you guys start comparing Lupe in the lyrical debate.

Two artists just as good, if not better in some respects, to Lupe.
ReplyDelete1. Jay Electronica
2. Blu

^^good point. Also, I fuck with Gucci and Wale is a great lyricist.
