lol That's definitely Lupe. You can tell by the way he types. Also, I would be able to give a lot more opinion about the new direction if we had some new music! lol All we have is "I'm beamin" and a few live performances. I LOVE State Run Radio though. The performance blew my mind. So if that's the direction...I like it so far!

The Lasers sound is dope, but i still like F&L Lupe better. I hope lasers is a mixture of both styles.

i like the new sound, cuz each album is musically different. food & liquor was soulful kinda boombap. the cool was kinda loungey and dark. lasers is bright and electronic (as far as i can tell). each album is totally different from the last and i like that.

ReplyDeleteAm feeling this a lot. Its more friendly and upbeat without feeling corny and still has that nice lyrical content we expect from Lupe. I could see this getting radio time (although he should have gotten more already by now. That is, he would have if we had a smarter mainstream audience these days that didnt want bullshit -_-). And it sounds great live. Makes me want the album even more now. The guys at Atlantic need to stop being little bitches and at least throw out an estimate for a release date. Its been long enough dammit >:((((((
ReplyDeleteHonestly I ain't feelin' the new direction. The music is still good but it's not what it was - amazing. This is just one guys opinion of course, but imo it's been downhill from day 1 (F&L advance and mixtapes = best shit I've ever heard).

ReplyDeleteIts clearly "State Crime Radio" jeez you can hear both Lupe and the back vocals saying "Crime" not "Run"....maybe its more obvious to me because I have headphones on. But seriously its "Crime" wait until the tracklisting.
