PROOF that most(not all) Lupe fans are stupid and think they're smart if they can decipher lyrics from Post-food & liquor tracks.

rofl, how dumb can you be? It's not that hard to get..that's like a statement that would be on a generic hot topic shirt that a 12 year old girl would be wearing.

I mean I seriously saw a shirt like that, but it said "Silence is golden, but duct tape is silver" No bullshitting.

Im sorry, but some of you Lupe fans(I meet them really only in real life and on occasions on the internet) are stupid. Thank god some of you guys know what's up even if sometimes you're blinded by your stanish views. Nice track by Lupe btw.

    Sorry again.

All he did was ask a question. Don't act all high and mighty just cause you've seen the saying before.

And I don't see how a simple question like that represents the "stupid stanish Lupe fans." Just means he didn't get a line.
If you don't like it, why are you on this blog?

smh at these elitist ass undeground niggas who think they are better then Lupe fans just becuase they (the fans) like to disect his lines.

    Bunch of lames

I wrote that as sarcasm! Guess you were stupid enough not to get that.
Now go do everyone a favour and keep doing your thing by shouting "Free Weezy" "YMCMB" :)

  10. the reason you aint hearing the F&L flow is b/c this aint fckin 2006. Real artist evolve and let their music go to different places. Lame ass artist like Wayne rap the same way for 3 or 4 straight years. Look at Jay, Kanye, and damn near any other musical artist (any genre) that has been doing to for 5 or more years...their music, flow, sound all changes w/ time

    ReplyDelete
  11. I will have to disagree! Jay z and Kanye still sound the same. Lupe sounds different. But he sounds kinda different on every track... Even n the cool and F&L...Not a bad thing! However, I do agree with one of the Anonym... he is starting to sound like Wayne a bit! Especially in the Shinning Down track. I noticed that a year ago. But then again... alot of artist are starting to sound like Wayne... NOT JUST LUPE. why? bcus wayne is the # one Hip Hop artist Now! sad but true...Thats just how it is in the industry. When Tupac was the shit... many artist tried to sound like him. Same thing with Biggie and other mainstream artist. In conclusion, LUPE IS STILL THE SHIT IN MY BOOK!!!

  12. Why is everyone here so hostile and serious? Calm the fuck down.

  13. how does this sound like lil wayne it sounds like lupe.. jesus this song has nasty metaphors and similes and is deep so am i mising somthing here. and shining down sounds like lil wayne what????

    ReplyDelete
  14. This track is not better than ANY track on F&L and The Cool ...FACT!

    Agree or disagree?

Even if you disagree - this track wouldn't even make the cut for both of those albums.

    ReplyDelete
  15. If you don't think this track is lyrically ill then I suggest you listen to it again and again until you do... Lupe hasn't made a track like this since Enemy Of The State...

    ;)

  16. Haters are going to hate. This song is great. Whoever dont think so needs to get their ear cleaned

    ReplyDelete
  17. ^^^
I cant imagine any track from The Cool being replaced cause I've listened to it so many times but this could of easily been the outro for it

    ReplyDelete
  18. Lupe does sound like Lil Wayne in Shinning Down. Not in this song though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This could easily replace Gold Watch or Go Baby

    It is a great song

    ReplyDelete
  20. how the heck does lupe sound like lil wayne in shining down that song has so many amzing punchlines and metaphors??

    ReplyDelete
  21. "I Like Lupe but this song sucks!!! It's boring :( "

Man GTFO. Go back to listening to your Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Soulja Boy & Brian Pumper

  22. Hey hey hey hey hey hey HEY!

Some people like it, some people don't, no need to murder each other over it! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow no need to be rude ya'll...acting like you get paid to comment and argue.

Anyway "if talk is cheap, then my silence is golden" [deciphered]

Meaning "if talk is cheap" when he stays silent and doesn't talk at all, his silence is worth more than any cheap words that comes outta anyone elses' mouth.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh yeah, I'm intelligent and can usually decipher the difficult lyrics but it took me a couple days to realize that "The Boy In The Balloon" was a reference to that kid that faked be up in a balloon to get on tv and possibly a tv show.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree lupe DOES SOUND like LIL WAYNE in shining down and in IM BEAMING... and when I say sound... I mean FLOW... no where near lyrical content, metaphor, punchlines...

I AGREE this song is desolved with poor RHYTHM of flow... overall... THIS SONG SUCKS!!! Sorry lupe you #FAILED on this one...

    ReplyDelete
  27. FACT: Lupe has never sounded like Lil Wayne....there, now we can get off that topic forever....

the track is dope...easily could've replaced gold watch and/or been the intro or outro on the cool...
oh and ALSO i dont think a single track from the cool could've replaced a single song on f&L...doesnt make them bad songs in any way shape or form, so your point is bogus....

lets stop with all this hate now and just pray we get a lupe album (either lasers or F&L2) before we 2011...if not before we die...

  28. and whoever said kanye sounds the same as he used to...GET THE FUCCCKKKKKKKK FROM A HIP-HOP BLOG AND GET TO An otolaryngologist QUICK!! (yes i had to look that up)

  29. I'm pretty sure a lot you people like Lupe for his great lyrics. So the only way you'd dislike this song is if lines went over your head. I'm telling you this is lyrically on par with songs he did on Enemy of the State and The Cool.

LASERS is in the past, F&L II:TGARA is a blast from the past

Lu is back nigga ; )

  30. lol at the comments.

    Good entertainment

    ReplyDelete
  31. LOL love the comments. This song is great btw. Keep it up Lupe

    ReplyDelete
  32. What's the verdict of all of this?

Lupe will never be the same. Just like his fans will never be the same.

Is not that people don't like the song itself, is that they don't like the approach/flow/persona (mind you, NOT lyrics) that this Lupe has taken with it. I bet you if this song was being performed by Kid Cudi or Kanye, people would love it (and more importantly, it would have gotten much much more radioplay).

In other words, so far, it seems you will NOT get that soulful F&L Lupe back, so stop crying for it people!

I personally am disappointed, but there's no reason to verbally attack each other just because I don't like this song as much you do. So for those who constantly ride Lupe's dick, just respect each other's opinion, and get out more often. It's music, after all.

"Go To Sleep" (and what sounds it's going to be F&L II, for that matter) is the type of song I would have on repeat for a whole week or two, and then get EASILY tired of it. The difference? Well, I'm still bumping "The Emperor's Soundtrack", and it's been almost 4 years....

  33. we grow, we learn, we change.. great track

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's koo. Pretty good actually. But I do think it sounds like Kid CuDi & Lil Wayne had a love child. That's all I'm sayin.

  35. To everyone that is complaining about Lupe's flow on GTS -> You do realize that he's flowing slower so the mainstream masses can have less trouble comprehending what he's saying, right? Like in the past he flowed so fast and complex that the average stupid (Drake) rap fan couldn't catch his brilliance.
I guess it was either slow down his flow or dumb down his material...which I'll take the slowed down flow. But really he doesn't do it all the time, seems just like on the singles. Like "Horn Synth" is regular flow..."Fire" is regular flow...Everything on Enemy Of The State is..."Scream" is..."Stereo Sun" is etc.

Just depends on the track, yall need to stop hating. You complain that Lupe gets no airplay and doesn't give you any new music, then when he does you complain because he's not flowing right. He's delivered so much music in the last yr, the least you can do is support it!
    Contradictory hypocritical asses.

    ReplyDelete
  36. i believe that all the angry comments are coming from Lupe's team. Please!!! stop riding his dick so hard. This song is really not that good. He does sound like Lil Wayne. Yes to the anonymous above...this song is very plain.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I bet it's the same guy leaving all the negative comment. If Lil Wayne dropped a song like this everybody will be saying how great it is.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Damn I stopped commenting cause I didn't want to fight with that guy and I come back to see this. smh. Everyone stop just stop.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ok so i ain't happy with the flow either, but his lyrics are still FIRE! He's changing shit up, all artist do. I'm just waitin on his new shit to drop man i'm excited for that shit, but LU get back to that "broken left flow that nobody ain't touch!"

    ReplyDelete
  40. these comments are hilarious! please... continue ;)

  41. "He's delivered so much music in the last yr"

    nope.

  42. @anon who says they are THRU with lupe, I fucks with j.cole from now on...you got me. I don't wanna say I am THRU with Lu, but I can tell ya I am much more excited about J. Cole than I am Lu right now, regardless of the reason, I just find myself anticipating J. Coles new album 10x more than Lasers.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I am getting tired of this bullshit fighting......To all those comparing lupe to Lil wayne/ Kid Kudi / Drake and to those who disagre..... Lupe doesn t have beef with any of them, y should u start one?! each person has their own way of doing things....

As for F&L II i think lupe didn t mean to take everything the same as before I just think is his aproach to music tht is going to be the same ( like The Cool was a dark aproach, Lasers will have connections with video-games u get it right ).

And ppl: Friends Of the Ppl but fuck them haters

  46. Look, Lupe's flow goes along with the theme of the song. You can't expect his flow to be the same or remain the same forever.

The flow shouldn't even matter as much as lyrics. I rather have Lu's lyrics be on point and his flow fall short instead of the other way around. It seems like the 'fans' have changed and now care more of how Lupe sounds instead of what he is saying. I wouldn't put this song in a best Lupe Ever category, but it's still better than most of the songs other rappers put out.

Lupe is nothing like other artists, I don't see how you guys see the connection. Lupe has a distinct voice, I don't understand how he sounds like Weezy.
    Get yo ears checked boi!

  49. @99yroc

See? It's sad that you have failed to realize that 99% of the songs you mentioned were never released by Lupe.

The only official music we've got from Lupe has been EOTS (and we're nearing the anniversary of that). Everything else is him being featured on other artists' releases, or on leaks he never intended to release at the time. The last 1% is JC and Go To Sleep.

And just so you know, I'm Beamin' was never supposed to come out. If it hadn't been because of the leak back in December, we would most likely still have heard nothing but Shining Down from Lasers.

    ReplyDelete
  50. If Lupe continued making those quality albums, he could have easily been one of the greatest rappers. He doesn't put enough out for that to be said though, evenm if he did get better with his lyricim.
J.Cole is going to be the next up and comer lke Lupe now, and only time will tell whether his music puts him up top.
Eminem and Jay-Z are the greatest rappers to EVER do it.
