First off, if you're interested, the Go to Sleep artwork was designed by Colin Snyder - you can follow him on Twitter. Yup! and..we got the Go to Sleep lyrics for you right HERE!
Am I the only one not feeling this song? For a sequal to the album that already IS the best american rap album of all time, this is just not good enough.
And what's up with the "fill this bitch up" and "no homo"-lines? Wake up, Lu!
Drop it man..... Is the way rap is following.... and if i know lu (as an artist never had the chance to meet him), those lines mean exactly the oposite of what we think....
Hairplanes fly under the ground... fireworks tht don't make a sound
i dont kno about this song like the 1st and second verse i like but that 3rd verse almost kills it for me.It doesnt flow well at all and the lyrics are subpar. He needs to redo the 3rd verse but overall i say this song is a 6 out of 10
When recording songs for your F&L pt.2 album... please cont. with the STYLE of flow that you left off as well as the PROFOUND content of your lyrics...
P.S. a SEQUEL must be just as GOOD or BETTER than the 1st one... I would greatly appreciate this!
Thank you...
from a FAN that is tryin hard NOT to lose INTEREST in you...
The lyrics are very complex and brilliant when you actually break them down. I sound like a broken record here - but I want the soulful Lupe back... I ain't feeling any of his new content.
F&L and The Cool were both classics. All the 1&15th mixtapes were SICK! But everything I've heard since The Cool has been very average, and has no replay value. "Shining Down" was okay and so was "I'm Beaming", but they're not HOT, nor is any of the other leaks over the past year.
Will Lupe ever make a track like "Sunshine" again? or like "Hip-Hop Saved My Life" ? the way things are going, it certainly doesn't look like it. I hope I'm wrong.
I'm slowly losing interest, as are a lot of other Lupe supporters.
The track is dope. It's an Emperor's Soundtrack/Failure kind of just lyrical flexxing type track.
Plus, anyone else think "The Great American Rap Album" is gonna be some sarcastic satire of the typical American Rap Album? The title screams sarcasm... I dunno. But yeah, this is dope.
Except one line in the lyrics seems to stick out as wrong... "bonjour no dojo" I dunno what it could be, but that doesnt make sense to me... or maybe I just don't get the line.
Ummm... idk what to say... I've liked every song thats been leaked... idk except for the lean joint. But idk... I really feel like lupe is still fighting the system with his recent lyrics its been what I've expected from this great man... Keep going lupe I'm behind you as an artist evolves his fans should as well... Please get in the studio with J. Elec.)im tooooo hype for that!!!!
i agrre with anonymous maybe not all of you but there are definitely some "fake @$$ fans" afoot lol i hope lupe doesn't get to the point where he is going over his own "so called" fans heads LOL
the song at first was just okay to mme but ive listened to it more and it grew on me. The beat and the hook are the shit. The first two verses are nast just the 3rd verse is alittle confusing. I cant wait for the dirty cdq
Has there ever been an artist with a large fan base like lupe that hasn't had fans say something along the lines of "i want the old lupe back". I cant think of one. Evolution people, relax. Its still lupe, still dropping complex rhymes over good beats. Just enjoy it doesn't have to be the same as before.
people dont like change. it scares them. shout out to the anon @5:20. f&l is 4 years old. if lupe's shit stayed the same i would have lost interest a while ago. one thing i love about lupe is that he's not predictable. he can make tracks that have some sort of social or political message and then he can make tracks where he's just flexing and putting niggas to sleep.
lol he said he eats pancakes and bacon because right before that he says he an Insomniac... someone who can't sleep.. so that y he's eating bacon and pancakes at midnight lol..
Smh at the niggas sayin lupe not wat he use to b..he's been killin every feature lately such as the Sarah Green joint, Janelle Monae, and the B.o.B feature..He even killed Alicia Keys love letter to the beat even tho the arrangement seems off he still did his thing..When Lasers and TGARA drop they're both gonna b classics and all yall gonna dickride like yall was already fellin it..Shitty ass fans go listen to some Souldja Boi
EVERYBODY PLEASE LISTEN. LUPE FIASCO is a dam genius lyrically... he has a new song called GO TO SLEEP. its FIRE. all he is askin for us to do is CALL and REQUEST it on our local RADIO. if yu dont believe me just LISTEN TO IT DAMMIT... jus do as IMAN says.. thanks yall! my name is "iman" if yu were wonderin by the way. hit me up on facebook...

Please just read the lyrics - I mean damn. He is droppin' on this track and the beat just adds to the eeriness of his verses.
This track is monster and the best part is thinking about how it fits in conjunction to the rest of the album because he releases ALBUMS not productions compilations of verses and guest appearances.
This is exactly what hip-hop was and is supposed to be... poetry infused with rhythm on wax. I'm feeling this even more with every listen. Nice work, Lu. Big up's to 1500 or Nothin' for the work on the track. Lovely stuff.
To everyone that's not feeling this: Your reaction is too predictable. Everyone knows that you react adversely and extremely to things that you don't understand... like the lyrics of this tune, for example. ;-)
Well... by everyone, I mean every intellectual person on the planet. Clearly, you're not one of them. Read the lyrics again until it clicks.
Colder than Chris Martin guitarin' - would you look at all these Spies? But they can't see me, I took out their eyes Replaced them with some me's, so all they see is he's
I love this song. Lupe's switchin it up. Change is a great thing. As a fan of his i can say this song goes hard and it might just be to intellectual for all the haters. Read a book and get with the times.
I understand you have always expressed how you feel in your albums - you have 'kept it real' in that way. No one would want you to stop doing this. I always felt you were a very CONSCIOUS and philosophical rapper, a deep thinker that went beyond the surface, beyond social pressures and prejudices.
"Hurt Me Soul", anybody?? "Sunshine?"
I suppose that is why I am disappointed to hear the "no homo" line in the otherwise amazing "Go to Sleep." What are you trying to prove?
How can we frown on racism but maintain our homophobia? The homosexuals I know say they have never had a choice about being gay or not. Just like people can't control their race. That's why racism is unfair, and homophobia does too. They're factors nobody could control.
I still hope there is a hidden meaning to that line, and you are not just hating!
You're too intellectual man, see through the bullshit on THAT issue.
