Video: Lyor Cohen Responds to #FiascoFriday

Warner Music Group's CEO, Lyor Cohen, joined the Fiasco Friday crowd today outside of Atlantic Records. He made his entrance by carrying a boombox that was playing Lupe Fiasco's upcoming single. There were mixed responses coming from the fans. Some were thrilled to hear the track and others were frustrated with Cohen.

In the end, Cohen drew a crowd outside of the fenced-in rally area that nearly shut the protest down. While some speculated that this was all an act meant to end the rally, NYPD thankfully allowed for Fiasco Friday to carry on.

  3. Nah I agree with the girl. She was right to say "That's nice but we were supposed to be hearing that two years ago!"

It sounded nice but I really wanted to hear what excuses he had! "Don't you want us to wait to make it sound real nice" sounds like a bunch of bull.

  4. Lol at him being a snake and liar

Do you have any idea who and how powerful he is? And how much he has done for hip hop?

They should have been grateful that he showed up, not acting like kids

  17. While it was hard to listen to the song over the arguing that was going on, I have to say that the single sounds like it is AMAZING! the beat is sick!

  19. The single sounds AMAZING and I felt the girls point (I truly did she was right, what took them so long?) but that was BAD TIMING to be going in on Lyor Cohen. She could of waited til the song was THROUGH and over. She completely ignored the SONG and wanted answers. That's cool, but not at THAT MOMENT. She messed up the MOMENT. It was suppose to show fans reaction to the his up and coming single, a joyous reaction and now it just looks like exactly how everyone's been doing Lupe, ignoring him. She fucked up the moment man! I'm PISSED. That girl was soooo off, just epic failing for doing that while the song was playing. I would have waited til after I listened and then try to talk. SHIT THE ULTIMATE THING IS TO LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC!

  20. Why can't people be happy that dude came out and played a single for them. Atlantic owes nobody anything. They already gave us 2 Lupe CDs. We aren't entitled to anything. Why verbally attack that man, you're only killing the mood.

  21. Protip for the dude though. Shoulda stepped up on a higher platform. Put the boombox above your ahead waved it around and start smiling. That'll get the crowd happy.
