Video: Lyor Cohen Responds to #FiascoFriday
Warner Music Group's CEO, Lyor Cohen, joined the Fiasco Friday crowd today outside of Atlantic Records. He made his entrance by carrying a boombox that was playing Lupe Fiasco's upcoming single. There were mixed responses coming from the fans. Some were thrilled to hear the track and others were frustrated with Cohen.
In the end, Cohen drew a crowd outside of the fenced-in rally area that nearly shut the protest down. While some speculated that this was all an act meant to end the rally, NYPD thankfully allowed for Fiasco Friday to carry on.

ReplyDeleteShe said turn it down so they can hear what this guy said, i agree i couldn't hear S***, all i know is he a snake and a liar from da bits n pieces i heard lol FNF UP
ReplyDeleteshe could at least said something when the song was over!
ReplyDeleteSong sounds fucking hot!
ReplyDeleteNah I agree with the girl. She was right to say "That's nice but we were supposed to be hearing that two years ago!"
ReplyDeleteIt sounded nice but I really wanted to hear what excuses he had! "Don't you want us to wait to make it sound real nice" sounds like a bunch of bull.
Lol at him being a snake and liar
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea who and how powerful he is? And how much he has done for hip hop?
They should have been grateful that he showed up, not acting like kids
the single >>>>>>>>>what he was saying.
ReplyDeleteYou can hate whoever you want but not Lyor Cohen...google that dude..he knows what he's talking about.
ReplyDeleteEVERY Body at the top that's powerful and in the hip hop game is corrupt, i mean he works for WARNER...Enough said! but glad im gettin my lupe album in march, GOD willingly
ReplyDeleteGood part on him to ignore her when she started talking out of line..
ReplyDeleteHe knew she didnt know who he was..
ppl was out their lettin lyor cohen satisfy them with crumbs (playin the single)we want the whole pie(Lasers)
ReplyDelete"ppl was out their lettin lyor cohen satisfy them with crumbs (playin the single)we want the whole pie(Lasers)"
ReplyDeleteummmm a single of the album is not crumbs!!!! its a stepping stone in the right direction. thats why its a victory march not a protest. i think that girl didnt do her research. she sounds ignorant AF. but im sure her intentions were good.
ignorance crazy shes a lupe fan
ReplyDeleteso is Atlantic Records part of Warner Records then?
ReplyDeleteFriend Of The People probably on another great Thanksgiving.....
ReplyDeletekeep looking on the positive side,
we all Lupe stans, eliminate the negativity
yes Warner brothers is the parent company of Atlantic their all just about connected
ReplyDeleteWhat was that chick thinking...
ReplyDelete"The Show Goes On" is what I'm guessing the title of the single is?
ReplyDeleteshe sounds stupid
ReplyDeleteWhile it was hard to listen to the song over the arguing that was going on, I have to say that the single sounds like it is AMAZING! the beat is sick!
ReplyDeleteher ignorance ruined it for everyone who was not there and could not hear the song
ReplyDeleteThe single sounds AMAZING and I felt the girls point (I truly did she was right, what took them so long?) but that was BAD TIMING to be going in on Lyor Cohen. She could of waited til the song was THROUGH and over. She completely ignored the SONG and wanted answers. That's cool, but not at THAT MOMENT. She messed up the MOMENT. It was suppose to show fans reaction to the his up and coming single, a joyous reaction and now it just looks like exactly how everyone's been doing Lupe, ignoring him. She fucked up the moment man! I'm PISSED. That girl was soooo off, just epic failing for doing that while the song was playing. I would have waited til after I listened and then try to talk. SHIT THE ULTIMATE THING IS TO LISTEN TO HIS MUSIC!
ReplyDeleteWhy can't people be happy that dude came out and played a single for them. Atlantic owes nobody anything. They already gave us 2 Lupe CDs. We aren't entitled to anything. Why verbally attack that man, you're only killing the mood.
ReplyDeleteProtip for the dude though. Shoulda stepped up on a higher platform. Put the boombox above your ahead waved it around and start smiling. That'll get the crowd happy.
ReplyDeleteSomebody buy that man a birthday cake, that girl dun goof'd.
ReplyDeleteThe Show Goes On has been such a damn great song. I can understand why the woman wanted answers.
