Lupe Fiasco to The White House?

After this whole controversy about Common being invited to The White House for a poetry event, The Well Versed put together a list of rappers that should be invited next, including Lupe. Here's what they said:

Poem To Recite: “Words I Never Said”

Select Entry: “I really think the war on terror is a bunch of bullshit/Just a poor excuse for you to use up all your bullets/How much money does it take to really make a full clip?/9/11, Building 7, did they really pull it?” & “Limbaugh is a racist, Glenn Beck is a racist/Gaza Strip was gettin bombed, Obama didn’t say shit/That’s why I ain’t vote for him, next one either”

Response: At first the entire right wing would label Lupe Fiasco a terrorist. He does have a song titled “American Terrorist” after all. But then they’d hear that Lupe didn’t vote for Obama and would try to recruit him.

    I think about it like this, and I'm not leaning towards one way or the other, it's just what I notice:

    As far as I'm concerned, what does it matter if he states those two verses on a White House platform or not? Lupe's predecessors have been saying words of the like for years upon years. In essence, that whole establishment is going to do what they want regardless. Now should it somehow bring a bit of good, then so be it. But it's constantly like The O'Jays put it "For the Love of Money"...

    I would love to see Lupe Fiasco, Dead Prez and Immortal Technique perform at the White House? And for Ihadsomelagears..... so because some people said it a little in the past and it brought little good it shouldnt be said at all? I think its not the problem of who and when they say it but its people like you that are sooo defeated that you wont stand up for anything. Thats just my opinion and you think Lupe is saying it for the love of money? are you crazy? If he was doing things for the "love of money" dude would be 100X more famous.

    O, and for the record that line about Obama didn't state "that's why I ain't vote for HIM, next one either." The line is actually "that's why I ain't vote for, next one either," basically saying he didn't vote at all.

    I wasn't saying that LUPE does this for the love of money. NOT AT ALL. I'm saying is that the majority of the time, the unwillingness for some of those people in very high authority, very high power to take in what these artists say with more understanding and insight angers me. I didn't mean for you to misunderstand what I meant, or have the later of what I said intended for LUPE. NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. I'm referring to the White House when I say "The Love Of Money".

    To reiterate what I said and to keep it clear...

    I'm not discounting the possibility of Lupe being invited to recite those lines as a miniscule thing. That's real big. What I'm saying is whether or not this happens, whoever makes it in, what results will come forth from that? Will the White House disregard what these artists are saying and implying or will they honestly implement something for the better?
