Here's some new Lupe for you from Patrick Stump's new album Soul Punk
“This City” prominently features fellow Chicagoan Lupe Fiasco, and Stump said his relationship with the rapper goes back several years. “Before Food & Liquor came out he and I were talking about working on something together. I ended up producing the song ‘Little Weapon,’ for his The Coolrecord,” he said. “I actually wrote the hook for ‘This City’ with him in mind before I decided to use it for Soul Punk, so when the label asked me if I'd be interested in doing a remix with an MC he was the only real way I'd say yes.”

ReplyDeleteLu did his thing, but I can hardly get through the jawnt. Just gives me a headache...
ReplyDeleteAnnoymous #10 is right.
ReplyDeleteEverytime i get on this site in the comments section someone is bitching about one thing or another. Lasers is/has been out, you all didn't like it, o'well, move on with your lives. We all know the situation behind Lasers, he was ready to give up on it but he put it out and made compromises for the fans, yet you all bitch about it everywhere.
Pop or not its still pretty gay
ReplyDelete1. I want Patrick Stump to get fat again and for FOB to get back togther. 2. Lupe killed it with his verse. 3. This song is not my fave, but the concept is cool.
ReplyDeleteThis would have been good if Patricl Stump wasn't trying to sound like Michael Jackson...
ReplyDeleteWhy people getting mad at people that hate this song because it's pop? Not everyone likes the pop genre. I'm pretty everyone can agree that Lupe has a killer verse in this song, but there are some people that won't buy/download the song because they don't like the beat/sound of the song. And there is nothing wrong with that. A song could have good lyrics, but if the beat is unappealing there is no way I can listen to that song for a second time. As with if a song has a good beat, but trashy lyrics the sond wouldn't be in my ipod. You guys have to learn to put up with other people's opinion even if they don't think a legend like nas is great.
ReplyDeleteflyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
ReplyDelete^ Patrick Stump has been trying to sound like MJ ever since Mj died. Go on youtube he's pretty much reenacting MJ's entire catalog.
ReplyDeleteI for one can't respect someone who doesn't respect legendary artists. SeantheRobot does not respect Nas. I don't like Kobe, but I know the boy can ball. I give him his respect. SeantheRobot can't respect a legend and pioneer like Nas then something is wrong. Give respect where its due, "I don't understand the fascination with Nas, he ain't all that." FOH Sean and just run the site...
I skipped to Lu's part in the track very rude of me.
ReplyDelete@ donyetta - i agree w points 2 and three.
ReplyDelete@ everybody else stop being a lOSER and be a LASeR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
open your eyes to new sounds of music forrealdoe. so one sided doe like a shape w/ only one side doe aka a line segment doe.
I don't like this song at all, not even Lu's verse could salvage it for me. That being said, Lupe is still the man. Fans are obviously fickle and will jump bandwagons easily. Though, any fans Lupe might lose weren't really fans to begin with and were just riding him cause he's popular now or are some misguided fools that want him to go back to making songs about crack.

ReplyDeleteThis song is alright and I dig Lupes verse ALOT an idk whats ppls beef with pop.. smh theres nothing wrong with pop at all.. Theres alot of GOOD pop songs but its whatevs.. tracks kinda hard to get into cuz PS is kinda annoyin but yall "FANS" need to get a grip an chill out... We havent heard a new Lupe verse in awhile an when we get something new they wanna complain like what???
ReplyDeleteI kinda like the song.
ReplyDeleteI don't see the big deal about it being more pop then his usual. It isn't his song he is just a feature. If you don't like the song than don't listen to it.
DJ2KO
Who cares if this is pop, its not even Lupe's song
