  1. Is this the full version? Bill wouldn't let Lupe finish a sentence. I was squirming the whole time during this interview.

  3. So edited! I also want to see the full interview!

  4. Just to let you guys know this is the full interview. It was short and heavily edited.

  5. Hahaha.

Even with so much editing it seemed like it was very hard to put Wasalu over as an idiot or a radical with no basis or logic behind his words.

All this turned into was one corporate American dude arguing with a guy from the grimy ghettos of America. No manner of words will win that argument.

  6. He did pretty good even though they chopped and screwed the hell out of it.

Is it ignorant of me to say that my favourite part was "Actually they're prescription"?

  8. I was watching countdown with Keith Olbermann before I watched this interview, and he had a segment on how they edited Jon Stewart when he was on there on Sunday.lol

The interview wasn't that bad, but there's no way to get an actual interview on that show if you oppose Bill's view on any topic.

  9. O'Reilly is right about Afghanistan but so is Lu. Either way we are still there and we don't have to be. I don't see the editing that everyone is screaming about though. Also, although Lupe's fan base isn't chocked full of Political Science majors neither are most of the viewers of The Fox network. Over all Lupe did a good job representing the hip-hop community which is all I wanted because I never agreed with the statement. Thanks for posting!

  13. Sean, what is your opinion on all of this?

    ReplyDelete
  14. So O'reilly defines the term "fallacious" assuming Lupe doesnt know the definition of that word (racist)...Lupe probably has a more extensive vocabularly than he does.

did anyone else hate how Lupe repeatively called him "sir"? It great that he was trying to be cordial but I don't think Bill deserved it..especially since there was a lack of reciprocity in that respect with him (Bill) previously calling him a pinhead and whatnot...jussayin'

    ReplyDelete
  15. ^ "(racist)" as in Bill's assumption that Lu didn't know the def of fallacious was a racist assumption in my opinion

    ReplyDelete
  16. I must say Lupe came across good here and held his own, even staying courteous throughout the whole segment (something which I don't think I'd be able to do if I was accused of "misleading" people who looked up to me).

The segment was waaay too chopped up and edited, though, to gauge any progress made from the conversation. Like, it'd be nice to see if Lupe and Bill-O ever reached a consensus on the purpose of the War in Afghanistan.

All in all, not really too productive for either side, but at least hip-hop didn't embarrass itself on national TV. *fist pump*

  18. I agree with you H-bomb. Thats the nature of Fox News "broadcasting"...soundbites of circular debates with no closure. Its frustrating and a waste of airtime. Thats why I avoid "opinion" news shows like Bill's (other than the fact that they are usually held by bigots like Bill).

    ReplyDelete
  19. This interview looked like it went nowhere. Not very productive. At least Lu didn't end up lookin like Thugnificent on Obama like so many haters thought. LET EM KNOW

  20. pissed the frickk outta me when bill stated in the beginning makin lupe seem like a typical rapper making these statements....

  21. WHAT ABOUT WHEN LUPE SAID PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY WERE MURDERERS???

NOW HE'S NOT AGAINST MURDERERS CUZ HIS DAD WAS IN THE ARMY???

  22. ^ if ur name is george bush..no one wants to listen to you..hahah

i love how lupe speak, yes sir!!!
heheh i was smiling throughout..bill o reilly is irritating, i want to hear lupe speak!!!

  23. Lol u troll. Lupe can wear whatever he wants to.

  24. I am in the military. I am a huge Lupe Fiasco fan. I consider myself a moderate and a somewhat knowledgeable political follower. What I got out of this interview was a rapper trying to get some press and a TV anchor trying to get some ratings... nothing more. I know Lupe is conscious but calling the president of the U.S. a "terrorist", out of context or not, is a loss from the get go. Lupe held his own and made some valid points but in the end he is wrong about his original statement. At the same time he shot off some good points and was probably edited out of a few more. In the end, we do not negotiate with terrorists... we kill them and protect our own. I love Lupe to death but we don't go over to Afghanistan just to "use up all our bullets".

    ReplyDelete
  25. if terrrorist deserve punishment i believe we deserve the true, the silence is worse than all this violence.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Fox/O'Reilly defending Obama?, that's new. That's the LUPE FIASCO effect. Honestly this discussion needs transparent, live/ non-edited, hour segment. O'Reilly clearly does not know Lupe Fans!!!
To, Lupe, we need "FIASCO FACTOR" show!!!

  28. Well, what didyou expect. Bill is impossible to argue against due to his condescending comments and his dismissive way of countering arguments. At least Lupe was gracious and tried. Bill was just plain rude. Watch Lupes full interview on Tavis Smiley this year to get a better idea of his political beliefs.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I have mad respect for Lupe, because Billy called him names, and he still says Mr. O'reilly.

You don't have to graduate Political science to understand the government, that is a poor excuse. Logic is not the same as being smart. Having common sense is waaay different than being smart. You undertsand math I undertstand Life. Billy is trying to say that we as people are stupid to understand politics? Thank you Mr. O'reilly to call me stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh wow, O'Reilly wasn't even letting Lupe speak his mind. I'm like sitting here thinking "Let the man speak!!" This whole interview lost its purpose, I think O'Reilly had already made up his mind as to how he wanted Lupe to come across. It's really unfair.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Lupe gotta spend more time reading up on his politics if he's gonna get out there and argue it. how can u argue that Obama is the biggest terrorist and not have a problem with him EXECUTING someone. there's supposed to be a fair process isnt there? and as if the US army couldn't have taken Osama alive if they wanted to. they're the strongest military in the world.

and then he argues that the reason the US is in Afghanistan is cos they're after Osama. nah man, they used it as a stepping stone to open up the rest of the middle east, as well as the gas pipelines and protecting the US's top dog position as the peeps you can't fuck with.

and on a completely different level, i got a problem with Lupe repeatedly calling that racist scum 'Sir'. wtf was that.

i wanna see the unedited version tho.

    ReplyDelete
  32. how is lupe doing this for press? if anything oreilly is doing this for press because we are all watching a clip from his show. lupe didnt mention lasers once. and the only reason lupe was on the show was because orielly called him out of his name. if he wanted to promote the album he wouldve went on the daily show and gotten to speak his mind entirely.
and just because we're not political scientist we're automatically idiots we cant hear a persons opinion without deciding if we agree or not? this can be easily disproven. fact:lupe fiasco does not vote. everyone i know that likes lupe fiasco did vote.
i cant believe some of you are actually making bill oreilly seem credible. if you remember how this started, his beef with lupe wasnt because he disagreed with lupe, half of the people he talks to dont think obama was born in this hemisphere. his beef with lupe was that he thought that because lupe raps he is just saying shit for the sake of popularity and is too ignorant to defend his opinion, which he doesnt have to do. he just said all lupe fans are ignorant, impressionable, and being misled and half of you are actually co-signing this bullshit. well....speak for yourself! isnt that the point?

    ReplyDelete
  33. What's most disappointing about all this is that there is a real discussion to be had about the actions of our government and the forces involved but it gets lost because Lupe used such a hyperbole. Also it seems like he doesn't want to admit that maybe the language he chose in that instance was not the best for the message he's trying to convey.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It is seen that the interview had been edited and and certainly the better arguments removed, as we see in Twiter, nothing new, Fox style.
Good Job against the great fiasco Lupe.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That military manual is outdated and irrelevant. They teach us all how to kill. Terrorist instill fear to spread hysteria and create disorganization. Murder or defense don't automatically mean terror. Lupe just says the most random stuff and his fans swallow it whole.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yeah, it's too bad Lupe didn't get the respect he deserved. Truthfully, i'm shocked he acted the way he did. He is usually calm and collected. Here, he kind of lost his compsoure. Perhaps he felt he was being moreso attacked? I dunno, but if you wanna see somne absolutely DESTROY Billy, watch these two clips

Jon Stewart talking to O'Riley in regards to Common going to the White House:

  37. It's not that Bill Orely is smarte than Lupe, maybe more privy to certain matters but not smarter. Orily is just a better debater. He's more aware of himself and the way he comes off on camera. Orely uses strategy over information. His whole agenda was to make Lupe look crazy LOL by talking over over him, frustrating him and causing him to lose his compusure, raise his voice and stumble over his words. Lupe is a profound person with profound ideas but I don't think he knows how to get them across very well.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The only way to beat oreilly in a debate is to act more obnoxious than him, and sprinkle in a lil fact and common sense. Camron and Dame Dash made Oreilly look like an idiot by simply mocking him, and knowing how he gets down. Oreilly talked down to Lupe because he knew it would piss him off, And he talked down to the fans. Implying that he didn't fallacious means(he a rapper for god sakes lol) The editing was the funniest part though lmao

  39. lmao Jon Stewart made O'Reilly look foolish.

  41. You know what, that Racist O’Reilly might be right. In regards to the war in Afghanistan and Iraq at the end of the day America acted in defense. One could argue there were other reasons. However, the main goal on our behalf was defense. It was the bombing of the twin towers that provoked our government. Maybe we went about it the wrong way. It was like Lupe was saying; the way to combat fear is to destroy the root causes of fear. I think the war on terrorism could have been more covert and sophisticated. Terrorism does refer to those who use acts of terror for religious, political and ideological reasons. But defense does not fall into the act of terrorism. Or, does it. I don't know. I read there are over 100 definitions for terrorism and no true definition. Maybe Lupe should have said that Obama is no better than a terrorist. I am surprised that Bill defended Obama after all that shit he talks about him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yo, i need the Mos Def shirt Lupe's rockin

    ReplyDelete
  43. The war in Afghanistan was technically a act of self-defense, but they were kinda provoked to attack. The war in Iraq was not in defense. We went into Iraq because of "Weapons of Mass Destruction". If that were true we should have been out of there a long time ago. We didn't find any sign of "Weapons of Mass Destructiuon".

I hate the fact that Bill made it out to seem like Lu and all of his fans are stupid. Just because he got a show and knows how to yell over people he thinks he knows how to debate. If it was an organized debate he probably would lose every single debate.

  45. WE WANT THE FULL VERSION!
Is there any place to watch the whole thing? I'd like to witness it without all the obvious edits -__-

    ReplyDelete
  46. if you want the full version, just read the two posts on global grind, where Lupe explains his side and his thoughts.

as far as most of the people posting on here your confused as to what your talking about, bill/fox have ran their mouths about Obama since he hit office, but are now going to come to his aide. That was all for ratings, at least Lupe is intelligent enough to come out and stand his ground fully on his statements, Lupe is doing his job, all he wants is for people to open their eyes and its obviously working cause everybody on here that's talking shit took the time to come here and check out what he has to say?

    Just saying

    ReplyDelete
  47. I agree with Anonymous military guy. Lupe has some good points but not enough knowledge for him to get me into believing his right or knows what he's talking about

    ReplyDelete
  48. I have never seen Lupe like this he seemed flustered like he was having a hard time finding his words at times. But I think he did really good job considering he wasnt able to finish a sentence and Bill was being a %^&*. I like how he said I appreciate you Mr. Reilly at the end of the interview. :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. hahaha Bill sounds like a puppet thats been taught all the things to say... its been engraved in his head... right wing dog and poor fiasco is humanitarian, realist left wing.. Very immature of Bill to spk over him a criticize Lupe's glasses
