In tonights episode of So You Think You Can Dance, Caitlynn and Mitchell did a performance to Lupe's "Break The Chain". Check the video of the dance routine above!
its dope that they featured the song on the show, but they cut out the best part of the 1st verse..
"From the trees we hung/ Strange Fruit, man look at how we swung/ How the hell u gon tell a son who aint have a father how to try to grow up and be oneee?"
the dance was apparently supposed to relate to sufferin children in the Congo, those lyrics couldve inspired alotta things in the choreography..
One of my fav. tracks on Lasers. I personally thought the dancers were very solid. I think ppl are just raggin' on them b/c theyre doing a different style of dance that the general public of the youth today would not consider "Kool" or "Trendy". I also felt that, though it wasnt always perfect, their synchronization was one of their high points. and for all the times it wasnt crisp, their high energy more than made up for it. Now, in terms of their fluidity of executing their choreography (especially caitlynn's >_>), they do need to put more elbow grease into lol. Anyway, im glad that "break the chain" is getting more exposure. Its a very underrated track on lasers IMO.
Don't really like that song, it's alright.
