ReplyDeleteCIA my sankofa
ReplyDelete..?? anyone know what that line is referring to?
Sankofa is a movie about a model in Ghana that travels back to the past where she is then a house servant and abused by her slave masters.
ReplyDeleteThis ties in with the Black maid line later on in the song.
Sankofa is also a symbol that stands for "Looking to your past to find answers for today and the future."
^ What if he went for the double meaning? Lupe is cool like that :)
ReplyDeletethanks Sean and Anon.
