Lupe also talked about the music he likes right now and mentioned the following:
"When it comes back to hip hop I still like Nas and Mos Def and even the newer guys like Kendrick Lamar and Kid Cudi who can definitely kind of catch my ear and keep my edge sharp I guess.”
I'm sorry, but by the end of the year? If you announce a mixtape on a monday, it should be out by Saturday. End the year? Come on, now.

We were suppose to get a mixtape and not one but TWO Lupe Fiasco albums by the end of the year. But so far we have nothing! And now hes planning on starting another band? How bout you just focus on what you already promised lupe..cuz I dont expect you to follow through with any of this shit either.

Another thing is that so much is expected of him that I think it just makes him fold under pressure. All of his fans expect nothing but greatness and its prly just too much for him to handle.

"that’s coming which hopefully" You see how he doesn't give any indication about working on it or a more solid release time? This is EXACTLY how sound when ever mentioning F&L2:TGARA. "Hopefully F&L2 will come out before the end of the year" "God willing, F&L2 will come out before next year" ect. And that it's near the end of the year we KNOW FOR SURE that F&L 2 is coming out next year. Same will be for FOTP. Before the end of November I expect Lupe say that FOTP will come out the beginning of next year.
Expect to hear the Soundslash DJ album before FOTP as Lu just stated that he's working on it right NOW. While FOTP will be "coming which hopefully" LOL.

ReplyDeleteI don't think all these people understand that making music takes inspiration. You can't just turn it on and off. Everybody expects classic Lupe material every time he puts out a track. Well, I'm sorry but creative people can't just do that whenever they feel like it and still come out with a quality product. I think Lupe makes all these different groups because he's a real artist. He's probably losing interest in rapping and needs other outlets like Japanese Cartoon, his DJ-ing, and his poetry to keep him inspired. You'll get your music eventually guys, just be patient. If he's lost your interest by then and is no longer relevant, thats fine, the true Lupe Fiasco fans will still be around to hear it.
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong, but FOTP should've been ready a long time ago. I mean, he cancelled it only hours before it came out. I think its really all about timing. I'm gonna be patient F&L II, with Go To Sleep and the intro that's out on youtube, its got the makings of an absolute classic. Til then, I'm gonna happily bump Kendrick and J Cole, and the Nas album that's coming out soon!
