i don't have a problem with it being 8th, but how the fuck does Cabin Fever get put ahead of Elmatic? tbh Elzhi's mixtape completely shitted on nearly every mixtape that came out this year in ALL aspects. Lyricism, beats, content ect.
Lyrically it would of been 1st. Because of the beats I can understand 8th to most people you gotta have "hip hop beats". I still loved the mixtape though. No other rapper can make one that cold usin them beats.. he should of added stereo sun and bmf to it also.

The remade beats were fresh and he spits crazy but it's a project based on another project. Is originality an aspect he shitted on everyone else in? hmm

The mixtape could have had only 4 tracks: Double Burger with Cheese, Joaquin Pheonix, SLR, and SUPER COLD and still shit on any ALBUM (forget mixtape) put out this year.

I wouldn't say that Lupe's mixtape was the greatest this year. 50 and The Weeknd deserve their spots but Asap Rocky? Really?!? I've heard him spit and it literally sounds like someone's spitting in my ears. Get real
Where is XV's Zero Heros? In fact as far as I'm concerned, that is at least a top 5 mixtape this year with ease. It's had constant rotation on my iPod since it dropped in April. FOTP seems about right at #8 though

ReplyDeleteBefore XV released it I remember him quoting somewhere that it was a free album. So maybe that's why? I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong...
But FOTP grew on me. At first I was like what...but as I listened to it over and over, I appreciated more.
