Tara King comes through with some brand new music produced by Dem Jointz. As the title implies, Tara doesn't really care about any BS and she lets us know through the track. Enjoy!
She can sing. But im unimpressed by this song and feel she can do a lot better. Im also sick of the "i don't care/im doing my thing" theme in music... we get... you have haters... now how about you talk about something meaningful? Or if you're going to stick with that theme, at least do something creative with it. Jussayin'
oh and @sean ...just because someone disagrees with your taste, it doesnt make them a hater. Is this a space to speak our minds about art or be complacent followers of a sound/genre/style you've deemed to be of quality?
Haven't listened to the song yet. I will when I get home. but on the whole "addressing Haters" discussion in music.
I feel that if you look at the greatest artists, they never really "wasted" songs on "addressing haters" ie. Bob Marley,Bob Dylan, Michael Jackson.
I think artists that focus on the music and the content (what they have to say)have always stood out from the crowd of artists. Its a world full of music listeners, but how is a 31 year old mom in Panama City going to relate to you're music.
To the 2nd anon...Of course everyone can voice their opinion but if you just come here and flat out say "This Sucks" without giving a reason as to why you think it does..then, to me, that's hating.
If you just say you dislike it or give some constructive criticism..then that's totally cool. It's just about how you word things.
@Sean, I see what you're saying, and personally I prefere to give a full apraisal of why I feel the way I do about a certain topic as well, but I think its also important to consider that not everyone has the time or interest to elaborate on their opinions here and that should not be a deterrant from them speaking their minds.
The definition of being a "hater" is to dislike someone out of envy. I don't think its fair to label someone who simply said "this sucks" as a hater. Perhaps they really do think it sucks (which is likely cause the song rly isn;t very good). They could have easily said "this isn't very good" and it wouldn't have been considered "hate" even though thats basically saying the same thing. Like yourself, I dislike harsh wording as well but as long as its not offensive I don't think people's opinions or slang should be policed.
I wrote the first comment. I don't remember there being rules saying I have to give a description or explanation of wtf I like about or dislike about a song. When people hate they envy and I can guarantee that I don't envy this. It sux then it sux. Sean is too caught up with trying to kiss the artist ass rather than keeping his mouth shut. He knew she would be coming to this post and possibly see the comments. I NEVER SAID SHE SUCKED THOUGH I SAID THE SONG SUCKED. IM NOT ALLOWED TO VOICE MY OPINION NOW. GROW THE FUCK UP SIR
Uh, I'm on the fence with this one... It's not bad as the others said but I can't hear this song catching on because I heard too many other versions of this song. It's cool, but not "wooooow". If I hear it on the radio, I won't change the station, but it will not live a lasting impression on me.
Nice singing voice, however this song will not make her stand out from her counterparts. She, Tara, is missing something... She's missing that special ingredient when people get a "taste" of her music would say "oh, that's Tara King, she's hot!"
I actually like the song :) The only critique I have is after the bridge I kind of got bored. I think it needed the "whatever you say, goes straight into one ear and out the other" hook somewhere at the end maybe once or twice. That's kind of what makes the song to me. Like the chick. Peace & love!
To echo @SeanTheRobot, this comment section is here so that anyone who wants to, can express their opinion to the masses. Whether you do like it, you dislike it or you're in between.
I don't see Sean asking anyone to ride his coattail and always have them agree, like, concur, nod, ditto or think everything he posts on this blog is the best thing since sliced bread. Neither is he on his hands and knees pleading for an explanation as to how we feel. I never saw that once. All he said was how certain comments appear to him and he takes it.
Sean, s/o to ya for keeping us posted, much appreciated! :)
Song's not that good imho. I think dedicating an entire song to your haters and how you don't care . . well, makes you look like you care. Almost like a cry for attention. Plus the autotune influence is just annoying and the beat is serviceable.
I give it one good "Meh" and a shrug of the ol' shoulders.
nice try..but it sux
ReplyDeleteUgh...1st comment must always be a hater.

Don't like it :(
ReplyDeleteDidn't listen to it, the title pretty much put me off.
ReplyDeleteGreat comment @ the 2nd Anon above me.. Sean ''must always be a'' dick

And I really hope Tara King does stand out.

Just putting that out there.
I like the other song you put up by tara. this one... not so much.
ReplyDeletenice try... but it sux
ReplyDelete...because the theme is pretty cliche and , though meaningful, doesn't really show any growth in art or creativity. Performance not so bad.
Happy, Sean?

ReplyDeleteSean, you are being sensitive. The song sucks. You know it, I know it and we all know it. So what? Get over yourself!
ReplyDeleteI like her voice :-) and the title makes me lol. That's how I feel right now! Lol

A little more grinding and she'll get there.
that was suppose to be "leave" a last...
ReplyDeleteI hate typos.
Lmao these comments get funnier every day!
ReplyDeleteHella whack.
ReplyDeleteno applause
ReplyDeleteThe song is alright. I'm not really feeling the computerized voice, but to each his/her own.

ReplyDeleteFirst off, song is alright for me.
ReplyDeleteThe constructive criticism you give doesn't have to be paragraph long.
I'm pretty sure if you gave the song a listen. You'll be able to give a reason why you hate/love it.
"It sucks cause I hate these songs about rebelling." Simple and short.
I give props for Sean for at least typing his thoughts and trying to backup his claim.

*How he takes it.

Ermmm...I'll have to wash my ears out after this with some Adele or else I'll be having a horrible nightmare tonight.
