  1. There's something about Frank Ocean I don't like, and I'm not talking about him being bi or what have you, but I do think that was great of him to do. Kudos to him being brave enough to come out before his album even came out, he probably lost a few ignorant fans' sales on that. Still hope the best for him, but music isn't for me

  4. Yo, you post Channel Orange but no Cigarette Boats? You're killin' me smalls!

I agree with the first post... his music is alright but it's not for me. Then again I wasn't really feeling Novacaine either.

  7. Disrespectful music... I come to my knees in praise of god to thank him! I bow my forehead and make sajood (Sajdah) in hopes of mercy and peace. Allahu Akbar - God is great. I really wish peoples who don't practice and know nothing about islam will just stop making (Subliminal/ direct) references. - Peace be upon ya'll...

  8. This is mad wack! I wonder what Lu thinks about BAD RELIGION lol don't post this shit here

    ReplyDelete
  9. Lupe enjoys him, or at least enjoyed his last mixtape so why not? Plus new music isn't bad if it's enjoyable

    ReplyDelete
  10. Bad Religion is about his love for another man not necessarily cursing religion but anyways the album is incredible

    ReplyDelete
  11. and asfar as the moslim reference he's not necessarily saying that it is bad he was acting within the song acting he didn't know what the guy was saying. Like basically if somebody was in the car and a japanese person looked you dead in the eye and started speaking japanese "most of us would be like what the fuck?" Thats just my interpretation but i mean most religions are bad anyways cause violence everywhere no religion = no division honestly but its whatever because i sill respect people who live by there religion and go unnoticed because the hypocrites within a religion out number the true believers but yeah. We all are spiritual beings thats all that matters look up "spirit science" on youtube

  12. It might not be about religion being bad, but in simple terms it does sound like it. Not everyone who listens to Frank is a lu fan to catch the double meaning. Basically after the driver says Allahu Akbar he says don't curse at me... He might not know the meaning and think its a curse or whatever, but his context of Allahu Akbar as a curse goes out to the masses, and they will
interpret it as the same way. Not everyone thinks like lu fans if they all did no1 would refer to themselves as a "Bad bitch"

  13. It was used as a publicity stunt and thats what irks me. Coulda came out the closet at anytime, but right before the album drops is the best time. FOH..

    ReplyDelete
  14. his album date actually got pushed up, it wasn't meant to drop yet. Highly doubt it was a publicity stunt. He probably felt like wanted to get it out before someone some media scandal dug in his past and threw it out there.

This album is impure and Allah doesn't approve. A Jihad on the confused Mr. Ocean, Odd Future, and any of you who enjoy this. Now excuse me while I make sure the neighbor's dog stays off my lawn and away from my children.

  16. LOL you know what? He's write...Allahu Akbar! God is Greaterrrrr!! Greater than Frank's "deep" song and whatnot. #wack

  17. He sounds just like a mix of Gemstones aka gemini and Pooh Bear aka MDMA

  18. "A girl singing about a guy sure I will listen because that is the way things were meant to be. A guy singing about his love for another guy? That shit is gay. Both ways."

Sounds like someone is insecure about their sexuality...or was brought up in a shitty household...or both.

  19. "Listen if any man is singing romantically about another man that shit is fucking disgusting and I will no longer listen to that artist or that particular song. A girl singing about a guy sure I will listen because that is the way things were meant to be. A guy singing about his love for another guy? That shit is gay. Both ways."

Your no better than those losers at Mediatakeout you know that? If you actually listen to the songs they're in the perspective of a female, plenty of male artist have done it.

  21. HIS COMING OUT WAS USED FOR "PROMO" AND THE MUSLIM TRACK IS JUST PAR FOR COURSE RIGHT NOW TO BASH ON MUSLIMS NEVER MIND NO DOUBLE MEANING 90% HIS FANS AND PEOPLE THAT HERE IT WILL TAKE IT AS FACE VALUE - ALSO USED TO CAUSE MORE CONTROVERSY AND PROMO

  24. I come here for news about lupe not some homo guy

    ReplyDelete
  25. Instead of arguing u guys need to be listening to Lupe's verse on brief intermission

    ReplyDelete
  26. So if someone is anon they're a cowards? This is the basest sentimentality.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's actually kinda funny reading these comment from Muslims being all offended and shit by a song that not even offensive.

Then there's all this butthurt about Frank being bisexual, as if that even matters when it comes to talent like his.
Seriously, there's only 2 songs on the album remotely "gay".
Forest Gump (which is in the perspective of Jenny)
and Bad Religion. Which isn't even about religion being bad.

    ReplyDelete
  28. so much bigotry going on.. its a damn shame. all youre doing is confirming the stereotype that the hip hop community isnt ready for a bisexual artist.

to those saying his coming out is a publicity stunt, false. he wanted to come out on the album, but since rumors started circulating after listening parties were held, he decided to make a public statement. and im pretty sure he lost more "fans" this way than he gained.

until we can reach a point where we're more tolerant of all lifestyles, hopefully we can at least separate the artist's personal life from his music. for instance, i dont agree with kanye's lifestyle choice of being an ass hat, but it doesnt mean he doesnt make some dope music.

  31. This is so ignorant and childish. His sexual orientation is of no matter. If you don't like him then you don't like him leave it a lone. And if you can't understand the satirical context that he gives off then be offended who really cares. And to the guy who says he's ready to stop being a lupe fan, you were never a real lupe fan. If you were you'd know he's never censored the way he felt toward a person or situation so if he didn't like frank ocean he wouldn't say it. Did you know he likes lil b too? And I personally feel like lil b is an idiot, but that doesn't make me any less of a lupe fan.

    ReplyDelete
  32. woudn't say it* as in wouldn't say that he did.

    Wat do?

    ReplyDelete
  38. when i read the comments i was like so they are posting a song that insults lupe's religion on lupe's blogs? lol but actually after i heard the song and checked rapgenious i think bad religion is not referred to any actual .. but still why does he need to make the taxi muslim lol anyway he is not muslim

."Lupe Fiasco is the only person exempt from this."

    why lol

  39. "This just in: Lupe Fiasco comes out of the closet, admits love affair with Pharell. "

  42. You're the same guy, aren't you? defending yourself using another name? Get a life,bro.. Seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  43. ***"...If I called you a faggot you would defend yourself too. Because you're not a faggot. You're a person. Same concept with gays."****

Kobe called a ref a faggot because he was upset with a call. Joakim Noah called a fan a fag because the fan was being an ass.

They weren't talking about the gay community as a whole yet gays took the shit to heart as if they said the word directly to them.

Like I said befor, whye take offense to something you're not, especially when said word isn't even being said to you? The ref and the fan probably wasn't even gay yet the gay community were very upset about it.

I'm not saying that they shouldn't be upset about it, I'm just saying you are wrong for using the word faggot to insult me when it is gays you are trying to defend.

  49. Hey thanks for posting this, I like it a lot. Good Music! I thought Andre 3000's guest spot was really good too as he usually is. It's a shame the comments are producing such hate and disrespect. I think there needs to be a little more open mindedness.
