Hip Hop Wired previews Food & Liquor 2

Yesterday a listening session for Food & Liquor 2 part 1 went down in NYC and today Kaz from HipHopWired shares 8 Things You Need to Know about the Album and the name of Lupe's final album for Atlantic, "Skulls".

Rejoice, Lupe fans. The kid who made Food & Liquor & The Cool never fell off. The Great American Rap Album Part 1 is a reminder that no matter what he does outside of the booth, inside of it he is in a rare class of his own.

Lyrically, Lupe rises even higher than expected. Sonically, the established chemistry he's made with Soundtrakk over the years is apparent. The sequel to this album, which he says is already 85% finished, is said to be out in late 2012 or 2013 and he feels it is better.

    I'm glad he scrapped the "The Cooler" title lol, but here goes my overanalytical reasoning as to why hes calling it Skulls.

    He said he wanted to make a sequel to The Cool after TGARA. Well, on the song The Cool, MYH's zombie says "A long look, wasn't shook wasn't ashamed, matter fact, only thing on his brain was brains..."

    The Game takes the souls of men and hearts of women, The Streets takes the hearts of men and souls of women. MYH/The Cool completes the unholy trinity displayed on The Cool's album cover by taking possession of the brains/minds/Skulls of both genders of victims...
