I like his use of imagery and he no doubt has great ideas. I think he has the potential of writing a great novel, but honestly, the man needs to work on his sentance structure a bit. His wording is a bit awkward and confusing at times.
I'm black and wrote nigger instead of nigga...guess my mind momentarily forgot the chasm in meaning!!, I apologise for using the word in the first place..fire averted lets move on..Peace
That's because it has nothing to do with the word, the letters that compose it or even the pronunciation. It's because often times, white people ( not whites specifically but you asked specifically) use it to call us the lowest example of human trash. That's what I feel white people are saying when they say that word to me aggressively. The same can't be said for a black man saying it because he's not using it in a way that refers to himself or others like him as human garbage.
See what I don't understand is, why black people sell the word i.e: Capitalizing a word that denotes them to the lowest exist thing. Yet get offended when if a white person uses it.
Jay-Z and Kanye have a song that is nominated for a Grammy called 'Niggas in Paris' ( A title that you can agree has good denotation of blacks leaving slavery and becoming very successful, that I absolutely love.) But now say if the presenter of the Grammy is white, Will he be wrong for saying "Niggas"
I love lupe, and I love his hook on 'Audubon Ballroom' but I hear him say nigga in other music. If the message of the hook was applied as a social norm, I would support it. But its not, there is a double standard when using that word, and I don't like it, so to me if you are ok to call yourself a nigga and let other black people call you a nigga, u are a nigga. Just like if you are to call urself a American and let others call you an American, are you not an American?
What's the difference between a nigger and a nigga? Why is one ok to say but not the other. Why do black ppl get offended by a white person using the word nigga, yet the blacks use the word nigga in their music and sell the music to white people...

A lot of people are ignorant. You can't fault him for not knowing. The real tragedy would be not educating this person on this bit of our culture and history.
^^ I get what you're saying. Even though I'm black, I don't let my friends call me nigga. The only time I'll the term nigga, is if I really mean it in a derogatory form
