Last night Lupe performed at Bucknell University but he cut his set short due to the messy sound set-up. Afterwards he went to twitter to explain and apologize:
Bad sound = bad show. Truly apologize Bucknell for not be able to continue with my performance. I appreciate all the work done by the staff.
I felt my voice starting to crack trying to overcompensate for a very messy sound set-up and feared really damaging my voice if I continued ...under those conditions. I wish to give a 100% at all my shows and tonight I was unable do that.
I truly apologize to students and staff.. ...but the risk of damaging my voice was just too great. Sorry 1000 times and my team is taking steps to make sure this never happens again.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the concert w/ @3eb and have a great rest of the school year.
Damn poor Lu
ReplyDeleteHe was obviously mad the crowd wasnt rockin with him, smh c'mon Lu. That was a bitch move.
ReplyDeleteHe actually looked like he might have been sick. Feel better Lu!
ReplyDeleteBad sound doesn't happen often... but it does happen... I would've ended the show early myself. Hope th homie doesn't catch flack for this.. I'm sure he'll show mad love to Bucknell when he gets the chance.
ReplyDeletehe did forfeit his fee, that was dope
ReplyDeletehaving to compensate for bad sound can do some serious sometimes irreparable damage to your vocal cords. Only a fool would have continued. This was a wise move on Lu's part .. especially considering he mentioned he was on voice rest a few days prior via twitter..
ReplyDeleteDon't whine about opening and then moments later say the sound sucks and walk off. Not a good look. Finish the show.
ReplyDeleteYou got some bad days. I don't care what anyone thinks, but Lupe was totally not in it when he said his first line.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually the worst thing Lu can do in my opinion. Twitter rants, criticizing the government, preaching/whining is all cool by me, but you're a performer and that's your job. The crowd may not have been it but I guarantee there were people that made sacrifices to see you perform. I don't see how you can defend this.
ReplyDeleteA few days ago, he did say he was on voice rest. So, I don't think he was lying...
ReplyDeleteThe crowd don't even look like they were into it smh. I love to see Lu perform, so I would've been hella mad if he had to end the performance early while I was there.
ReplyDeletehe showed he was really sorry on twitter but not on stage he just told them he won't continue and turned around and left.. i am not sure how the audience felt.
ReplyDeletebut anyway things like this happen.
remember he is a human, just one of those days
ReplyDeleteLu was gracious enough to apologize. Some other celebrities would have just left stage and wouldn't say anything about it. Rihanna cut short of a concert she did in my country and didn't even say anything about as though nothing happened.
ReplyDeleteLu's only human; of flesh and blood he's made....born to make mistakes....
ReplyDeleteWhen an artist preforms well and sounds good then the artist is just "that good". When an artist preforms poorly then its the sound company's fault. I have seen this hundreds of times, they all look to blame someone else. Just the nature of the industry.
ReplyDeletethat boy gone lol
ReplyDeleteMaybe next time you should go to sound check eh?
