I feel like lu is just never going to get over that hump. I know he is second to none when it comes to rhyme schemes. But I've listened to him since 06 and when I first heard that dead presidents freestyle, I knew lu could be the best EVER. Jay could now stay retired. But he's losing me. I know he got it, but he won't do it.
But the thing is Lu doesn't want it. Like he said on Twitter. Why he relevant in a society full of bullshit. He doesn't want the crown of a dying kingdom. He made his self a black sheep with good reason. Let the man play his cards and work his plan. And enjoy the music.
That's the way I look at it too. He still drops crazy verses every few months. As a person who really listens to lyrics, I appreciate that. But I don't buy that he doesn't want it. I think he may be scared of failure. Honestly, I just enjoy the music, like u said. Just gets frustrating. Like now he acts like piece of paper was only the text that he sent out. When he said the new project was coming early September. Dudes crazy lol
He hasnt "lost" anything. The only thing he's lost is the appeal. Back in 2006, he was ahead of the game. He was the nerdy lyricist when most of the game was just gang banging non sense. But now that the shine has worn off and there are tons of niggas doing the same thing lu is/was doing...he just doesnt seem that special. The same verse that would have blown your mind in 2006 is just plain ordinary now. Thats how I feel anyway.
The decor is amazing with great seats and friendly staff. The bar staff was professional and their drinks ensured us a fun night in the city. I can't wait to go back
