Well, this is an odd turn of events. On the heels of Lupe announcing that he's dropping a project called "Lost In The Atlantic" while his label finds a "pop" single for Tetsuo & Youth, the cyber-hack group Anonymous chose to step in. Last night, they went on Twitter and gave Atlantic Records an ultimatum; either give the album a release date within 24 hours or else. With the clock winding down, Atlantic tweeted that Tetsuo & Youth will be released on January 20, 2015!
The weirdest part about this whole situation is that it happened on the 4th anniversary of Fiasco Friday, where fans marched and protested in front of Atlantic Records demanding the release of Lasers. So there you have it, 1/20/2015! Now the only question is will Lupe still drop "Lost In The Atlantic"? Stay tuned!

UPDATE #2: It seems that "Lost In The Atlantic" is indeed still coming! "Lilies" ft Sirah produced by The Buchanans drops tomorrow, hit the jump to see 2 different artworks for it!
I hope this release date is solid and without much compromise on Lu's original vision for TY. Crack better still be on it. Lost in the Atlantic should also drop just to get it all rolling again and simply because of what his label does to him.
ReplyDeleteLupe fans are really awesome!
ReplyDeleteGod is great
ReplyDeleteToy-T
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious.
ReplyDeleteDude if this is legit, this is the craziest/scariest thing I have ever seen. Looks like Lupe made some good friends.
ReplyDeleteSo dope. so dope. wish I could ramble about this on the shoutbox.
ReplyDeleteI'll have the shoutbox back up later on.
DeleteThat's my girl Diamonds on it
DeleteIts crazy enough that "Fiasco Friday" is my birthday. But for the same crap to go down exactly 4 years later...I'm done (smh)...
ReplyDeleteSo i guess that means Tetso& Youth will be born an Aquarius Album. Sweeettt, totally Sweeeeeett
ReplyDeleteInteresting how Atlantic put "Lupe Fiasco's tetsuo & youth"
ReplyDeletei thought the same. it could just be just a simple acknowledgement though...
DeleteAmen anon amen @LOVELL
ReplyDeleteThis'll be funny if the music is ratchet.
ReplyDeleteOne thing you have to understand is that regardless of the sound or music lupe has always had a conscious message, highlighting issues etc.. I loved lupe for his lyrical madness and his ability to switch flows whilst being meaningful. If there are a few ratchet ones remember it's a lupe fiasco interpretation of ratchet. Ratchet or not we don't give a FUCK!! ....20/01/2015
DeletePu$$y is one of the most dense songs Lu's released in awhile. It's like Failure turned up to 200. Song gets so much hate for the beat (as per usual) but it definitely grew on me.
DeleteI wanna hear him rip a Mike Will beat, like he did Pu$$y...or the Yo Gotti 'Errbody'! Could you imagine if he came super dense on those type of tracks?
DeleteFiasco Friday is also eminent birthday lol
ReplyDeleteThis is some of the best news I've seen all week, besides Lu announcing a release of a mixtape. If this story is indeed true, and Atlantic announced the release date because of Anonymous, then a big THANK YOU to Anonymous for doing what they do best. Wow, this is incredible.
ReplyDelete...the song is light to me...Not really happy about Lilies. May replay it like 6 times, but I think that may be it
ReplyDeleteYeah..... As expected :|
ReplyDeleteWell it took Atlantic Records long enough.................... Lupe is the best rapper out there. The album should of came out in august.
