I am thoroughly pissed off right now. I watched this fantastic interview in its entirety, got all hyped up, put in A Rhyming Ape, drove to Meijer, and found out that they no longer release CDs at midnight.
ReplyDeleteAAAARRRGGGGHHHHHH
I was on my way to Meijer and I Called and they said that the guy that puts new items out for their media department doesn't get there till tomorrow morning at 7! Total bummer!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not part of the 16... you should add one. I'm 17.
ReplyDeleteGreat album Lu. In fact. No matter what genre of music. No album ever has given this incredible first impression. Stellar project by my favorite artist. Abbey Road, Songs in the Key of Life, Nevermind, Ready to Die, Reasonable Doubt and a few more to name in my personal favorite compositions just took the back seat. Tetsuo and Youth. Congratulations Sir. I believe you are a success by nobody else's standard but your own. You did it your way even if it didn't seem so on the surface.
Thanks again Lu.
^^ You're right about the excellent first impression... Disagree on no album having ever given such a stunning first impression.
DeleteListen to the White Stripes self titled 1999 album... It blows me away every time. Thats my favourite band right there.
Agreed with the first impression bit - The Cool is one of my favorite albums of all time and not even The Cool "wowed" me as much as T&Y
DeleteMan, The Cool is probably the best first listen I can remember of any album. 808s is a close second
Deletelupe's bro is in jail? damn
ReplyDelete#FREECHILLY
DeleteAlso check out the second track on The Cool.
no not Chilly, he said at the end of the interview that his brother recently went to jail like 2 weeks ago.
DeleteMan I work at Target and they don't have it today because of some strike or some shit, pissed.
ReplyDeleteman i nearly cried listenin to this shit real talk. dots and lines brought tears to my eyes. I was disappointed after i listened to the album..... why? because all i could think in my head was "the albums over? :(" like you know when you watch a movie and you're like "i really dont want this shit to end" its one of those to me lol. this beautiful album is an experience all on its own. the cool is the favourite album of all time! but this album is creeping up on second fast.
