#Lu-Inspired: "From a Throne of Their Bones I Rule" by Lee

Inspiration can come from and manifest in different ways and for Lee, those rays of creativity translate through music, writing and art. When asked about the origins of this piece, Lee elaborated on when and why it was created:

The piece was inspired by "The Game's" presence in the Tetsuo and Youth album thematically, so I took his image (dice for eyes, bullets for teeth, ect) & fused it with the anime character Tetsuo, basically showing him possessed by The Game, sitting on the throne of the bones, with Micheal Young in the background.

Lee was able to fuse the narrative of The Cool with Tetsuo and Youth to construct a re-imagined image of Akira's Tetsuo. What was produced is a gritty look at the story of Michael Young and how The Game can come for anyone.

Follow Lee on Twitter, where he shares his thoughts on music and drops links to his Youtube movie reviews. Be warned, #LeeHatesEverything, but he always gives an adequate reason why.

Ticket Giveaway-WINNERS

So... It was looking ugly for a minute. I thought I'd just have to fly to Atlanta and use the tickets myself. But at the last minute, I got an influx of emails. I wish I could've given more tickets away but alas, I only had three and all of these people are well deserving. The three people going to see Lupe on my birthday, November 2nd, in Atlanta are (in no particular order):

Triniti Jordan
David Milling
Marisa Foxwell

None of them has ever seen Lupe perform live before so it is a real treat for me to be able to do this for them... Thank you so much to all who entered, there will be more giveaways sponsored by yours truly coming soon. And to the winners... CONGRATULATIONS!!! Check your inbox!

Lupe Fiasco gives us some details about Tetsuo & Youth

Lupe recently talked to RollingStone and revealed some details about Tetsuo & Youth. The content of the record, inspirations and how it'll sound like.

"For some people it's gonna be a shock, because there are no politics on the record. Consciously, there are no politics on the record, if you want to hear my political spiel or some pseudo-intellectual Lupe, go listen to [2012's] Food & Liquor II. From here on out, I'm just making music."

Fiasco says that Tetsuo & Youth's lyrical content was partially inspired by his upbringing in Chicago's crime-ridden Westside: "The content of it is like, 'Oh, shit -- I didn't know Lupe could talk like that. I didn't know Lupe knew that guy. I didn't know Lupe was affiliated with that.'"

"Day one Lupe Fiasco fans, from 2003 or 2004, they're gonna get a lot of that back," he says."That's gonna be a surprise. You gotta have those five or so years to have that retrospective moment."

"You're gonna feel this shit, trust me -- like, 'Oh shit, I can't believe Lupe did a record with that guy. And that guy. And that guy and that guy."

The 3 people who write my favorite 3 emails will be going to see Lupe Fiasco November 2nd in Atlanta. My treat. I'll announce the winners here on Monday, October 28th...

The ticket to my very first Lupe Fiasco show was a birthday gift from a friend. Three of us were in attendance. And you know what they say... Three is a magic number. That magical night eventually led to this...

And this...

And this...

The gift of that ticket was the start of something amazing. Maybe this will be the start of something amazing for you, too!
