Backstage with Lupe and Bishop G at IU

Concert Review - Indiana University:

Ok well.. This concert is everything I expected to see, it was my 2nd Lupe concert I went to and it was much more hype since last time. I was going wild, I'm sure everyone around my was pretty pissed because I was soo hyped, spitting all the lyrics/doing all the motions/dancing/etc as the show was going on. He started out with Kick Push, which was amazing!! It was like last time, except times 100. He then performed Hip Hop Saved My Life, but only did his first verse and then Bishop G did his verse. After that I think the next song was Dumb It Down with a different beat and it was real hype, then the song faded into I Gotcha. Then the drums for Little Weapon came on and Lupe spoke about how the problem the country faced was War and then went into the song after his speech. AND THEN... drum rolls please... A NEW SONG FROM THE LUPEND ALBUM was premiered!!! The song was AMAZING!!!! I dont think it had a name, Lu and Bishop just said it was "new shit" from the album... and the chorus was "NEW SHIT NEW SHIT" HAHAHA... the song was AMAZING THOUGH. After that Lu finished the show with Paris Tokyo and Daydreamin'. (I may be leaving some details out because I was soo hype and cant remember right now) Anyways, as expected I Went in, came out super sweaty and tired, I was damn near competing with Bishop G at performing because I was going wild from my seat. Speaking of which, I was soo wild Bishop spotted me in the crowd and I was on the 23rd row, but I stood out like crazy!!

Anyways, after the concert, I went outside and went around to the left of the Auditorium and Bishop G opened the door for me and I made this video

  3. To whom it may concern,

I'm writing this with the slimmest of hope that Lupe Fiasco himself might get a chance to hear what I have to say about the show I just saw at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

The show was very good and the energy was high the entire time, but the end was lack luster with no encore. I was ashamed that concert goers started leaving even before the last song was done. In North Carolina where I'm from, we always ask for an encore, especially from an artist we appreciate and paid good money to see. Asking for an encore is a way the audience can compliment an artist. IU just seemed not to care for an encore and I thought it was an affront to Lupe Fiasco and the great show he just gave all of us.

I was high in the balcony and stayed yelling for an encore even while most people had departed. I made my way to the stage eventually, only because I was curious if Lupe would have come back out if his fans would have put any effort into asking for one. Bishop G came my way and I asked him, "were you guys going to do an encore," and his response was, "No Nigguh, are you crazy, we just did an hour and a half show." His response really surprised me, I thought the band would have felt like I did, that IU was kind of turning their backs on Lupe, sending him on his way because IU had had enough of his music for one night and didn't need another song, let alone want one!

I understand the physical exhaustion the band and lupe fiasco must have endured, but to tell me, "No nigguh, are you crazy."! Many other great artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers will do more than one encore even after playing 2 hour sets, but I'm supposed to be okay with paying good money to get no encore and to be asked if I'm crazy? I believe it is Lupe Fiasco who is crazy for having a hype man such as Bishop G who treats his fans like trash. I had planned on buying a t-shirt or two, but the experience with Bishop G just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I left the concert disappointed and hoping that Lupe Fiasco is nothing like Bishop G, hoping that he does remember the "little people" that made him a "Super Star" and would have come back out for an encore, even if he was tired; that is the kind of artist I would pay money to see again, but that is not the one I got at the end of the show.

Thank You for your time and consideration.

    Sincerely,

    Francisco Avalos
