Hey Champ's Tour with Lupe - Final Write Up

And now ladies and gentlemen, we have sadly reached the conclusion of our month-long tour with Lupe Fiasco and his crew. We can not thank Lupe enough for the experience. We met so many great people and played for even more. Saam managed to acquire the on-stage swagger of Pete Townsend and the fancy footwork of a certain Mr. Jackson (not bad for a Persian), while Pete exploited his newly-found rockstar status to win over those of the female population. It was a month of mornings too early and hotel debauchery too late, where airplane flights were a commonplace activity and Lupe's hip hop collided with Hey Champ's electro-pop to provide hours of rump shakin' each night. This tour will always stand as a milestone for Hey Champ.

1st Disc From lupEND To Drop in Fall of 2009

This guy, who visited the Lupe concert
at the University of Maryland yesterday, says:

"Everywhere" from LupEND drops Fall 2009. You didn't really think
all three would come out at the same time, did you?

CherryOs, who was at the concert, too also confirmed that
Lupe said that "Everywhere" will be dropping in Fall of '09.

If he drops them all seperately it's actually more like
we are getting 3 albums instead of getting one, right ?

Hey Champ Report From UConn

Jorgenson Theatre for Performing Arts


Today we're on the road to Elmira College after having a day off in CT. Granted it's cold as balls here. (and yes I know balls aren't cold, please no emails...)

The UConn show was really fun. At the end of Shake, the whole band was going full tilt, I was jumping up and down, and so was the crowd. Then the crowd went totallly bezerk, and I felt like 'whoa, they must love this!. I soon realized Lupe had come out on stage and had been jumping up and down right next to me... (damnit, it's for him....just kidding). That felt very VERY cool.

Lupe Fiasco - Live At the Jorgensen Center - Review

I just got back from one of the greatest musical experiences in my life ! Today, I saw Lupe Fiasco live in concert ! It was amazing. I have always been a big fan of his music and have always wanted to go see him, so when I heard that he was going to be performing at The Jorgensen Center on campus I knew I had to get tickets.

The show was completely ridiculous, Lupe’s band had so much energy for the entire concert it was unbelievable. I’ve seen a number of concerts in my life but this one was special. For over an hour Lupe jumped across stage singing some of his songs like “Kick, Push,” “Go Go Gadget Flow,” and “Daydreamin’.”

The band that played before Lupe was pretty good too.

Their name was Hey Champ and they’re from Chicago. They had a really different sound, kind of techno, kind of Indie/Alternative, I was impressed.
Well there you have it. Lupe Fiasco… possibly one of the greatest nights of my collegiate life.
