And once again Lupe got a spot at an award show where he performed before a commercial break. All together we didn't even see him one minute.
It's great to see him at a major award show like that but seriously...he's on a level right now where he would have deserved a main performance on the big stage.
I don't even want to get started talking
about the "Best Hip Hop Video" award.

The whole award show was pretty crappy once again.
I miss the good ol' MTV VMA shows like they have been back in the
late 90's and early 2000's
Ever since they first left New York they started to suck
and yeah of course we are/I am a little biased
I mean this is a blog about Lupe
of course we want to see more of his performance
and we want him to get an award.
Maybe next time....

If you would've read MTV.com or listened to the host you would have know Lupe would be performing with DJ AM and Travis Barker, which were the house band of the night. And you wouldve known the host also said Katy Perry, LL Cool J and others would also be doing the same thing. And with that being said you couldve realized before he even performed that was gonna happen. No surprise, Lupe is great but i dont think he deserves the big stage after one hit song.

Has he not worked hard enough over the past 3 years to become the most popular hip hop act in the nation?? Has he not sold enough records, made enough hits??? I dont honstley enjoy Wayne anymore than yall, but give credit where credit is due and Waynes worked hard to do what his done this year.

are yall serious. yall are being super bias. Lupe isnt one hottest artist in America all genres considered, let alone the hottest hip hop act...So why would they have an artist with one major hit under his belt close the show?? And Lu doesnt have any lupEND song yet, that are worth performing.

ReplyDeleteits about being the most popular and most succesful, more than the actual video than anything and if youve watch the VMA's before you know that. the show was pretty good to me T.I. was good, Parmore was good, Rihanna was good, Christina was good, and Russell Brand was funny. A show is about more than one performer...and with that being said Lupe isnt one of the biggest musical acts in America but is among them and well respected by MTV which is why they gave him some shine unlike millions of other rappers out there in Rap land. And Lupe did perform a ROUGH version of an lupEND song who said it was done, and why perform a song from an album thats not gonin to drop for another year???

ReplyDeletei think its a great look for lupe to perform at the VMAs, one of the biggest music platforms on earth. There are millions of rappers that that has never happened to. And he was nominated! Its just a big step forward in his continous progress as a star rapper. maybe next year he can hit the main stage.
