Ray's thoughts about Lupe:

To me, Lupe is more than just good music. More than great music. More than amazing music. He's phenomenal. There are hardly any artists out there who can truly say they are unique and inspiring like Lupe. A bad day for me turns into an endurable one when I listen to that line, "some days it aint sunny but it aint so hard." Amazing because Lupe assumes the position of being human unlike other artists who feel they are immortal and above the world in every aspect. True to his religion because thats what he feels is right in his heart.

He knowingly acknowledges and understands his fans because he knows that without him, we would go on unknowingly, but without us, he would go on unknown. His beautiful combinations of Matthew, Sarah, Gem, Bishop, and the 1500's are incredible. He is a true trendsetter when it comes to his performances with such a large band to back him up at every show, unlike most other rappers who could care less about their band or dont even have one. So what does Lupe sound like? Words couldn't describe. What does it feel like? His music kinda feels like the day you realized your dreams, like the day you graduated from high school, or the day you first fell in love, like the day you first drove a car...like the day you realized hip hop saved your life.
