I'm sure many mothers can relate to what she has to say.
"Lupe Fiasco is a name I had never heard of until about two years ago when my friend couldn't stop talking about him. At first I thought he was kind of lame for having a name like that. (Since it's a Hispanic woman's name) But I gave him a try and I gotta say I was impressed, blown away, I was stuck.... I almost felt like there was some kind of hidden subliminal message of some sort that made people listen to him all the time.
I like his music because he actually makes sense and has a message in his lyrics. I like that he raps about skating, a child that is need of his father, a dead man who looks back at his life and children who suffer around the world.
The beats are awesome, his voice is one of a kind and his word skills don't compare to ANY OTHER RAPPER. I'm a mother of three kids and they all know some of his songs (we have the clean versions) I would love to listen to Lupe ALL DAY and go to his concerts, but unfortunately I can't.
I like the Intro's on both of his C.D.'s. I like that he has his own style and doesn't rap about drugs, bitches and cars. Also, the crowd that follows him are those who have intellectual minds because only those people will understand the message that he is trying to send out.
Dumb it down is an example of this. I also love the vocabulary he uses. He doesn't just vomit words out and add a beat to it...He is the best artist in the music business. The music that he puts out is simply....legendary."

I live in a pretty conservative home where my mother only lets me listen to Christian music...but of course I secretly loved rap. One day she caught me listening to Lupe and called it trash. I literally talked to her about him for over an hour. She likes his music now lol
