Justin Timberlake and Lupe Fiasco have been recruited by Kenna to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this autumn (09) in a bid to raise money for charity.
The trio will be joined by a team of adventurers assembled by Ethiopian-born Kenna as they scale the 19,000-foot (5,890 metre) African peak as part of a fundraising and awareness effort for the worldwide water crisis.
The mammoth climb will serve as a personal triumph for Out of Control hitmaker Kenna, who almost lost his father to the water shortage. He tells America’s Elle magazine,"My dad almost died as a child from waterborne diseases in Ethiopia, and he had talked to me about digging a well there, and I thought, ‘I have too many friends who would be concerned with the subject of clean water. Maybe I can help out.’"
And Fiasco insists he’s ready for the challenge, which he plans to turn into a fun race with his pal: "I’m an adventure junkie. Part of the motivation is beating Kenna to the top. Sabotaging his tent, taking the lining out of his coat, lacing it with ants or something like that."

Wow...
ReplyDeletethis should be a respected effort on there part because such a feat isn't one to be taken likely. I mean, It isn't mount Everest, but any ascension up a cliff you can potentially die from should be held in high respect.
So i wish them many good lucks.
His wiki says that Kenna also climbed 18,200 feet up Mount Kilimanjaro previously before falling ill from taking a sulfur-based altitude medicine that he was allergic to, and ending up having to quit.
ReplyDelete^^ well, let's hope that everything goes smooth this time.
