A Message from Kenna: Give up your Birthday, Give the Gift of Life

9:45 AM No comments

Dear Friend

As you know, Summit on the Summit and I believe that access to clean water sits at the center of preventing and solving many of the issues affecting humanity today, such as life threatening disease, poverty, and hunger.

We also know there are many ways to provide water, and that water wells are a very prominent solution in Africa, home to Mount Kilimanjaro and the many friends we made on our mission to raise awareness for the cause.

Join us in supporting the work of organizations like charity: water, whose September birthday campaign rallies all those born in September to ask for donations instead of gifts so we can in turn give the gift of life.

This is pure speculation but seeing that they've worked together quite a lot lately, there might be another collabo in the works. Kenna is currently working on his upcoming album "Songs For Flight."

Lupe Fiasco used 'Karate Magic' to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro

In the video above you can see how Lupe describes his Mt. Kilimanajro experience at the New York premiere of the documentary "Summit on the Summit: Kilimanjaro."

Lupe: "I guess it was one of them 'Karate Kid' moments, you know? I did martial arts for, like, 20 years. My father was a Grand Master for, like, 40 years before he passed. It's just one of those lessons that we were taught."

"We used to run in the snow barefoot, jump over cars, hang out of trees and do all types of crazy stuff, and that was just part of the training, to understand that it's you versus yourself."

"The terrain is always going to exist, it's always going to be there, and it's whether you are capable enough to go through it. Just some little mysticism right there, a little bit of that karate magic to keep the mind going."
