IMO, Daydreaming totally has more imagery. As he is describing the robot you can totally see it all. And the fake rap video is hilarious and haunting at the same time. Now, you can envision A.T. as well, but it changes more. It hopes from one image to the next, whereas Daydream has a basic image that just get's built up on every verse. So, for first time listeners, it's easier to imagine Daydream. A.T. is just harder to picture because it jots you imagination so quickly. Both brilliant songs, though.
Daydreamin'..I agree with what B-Winnizle said..the whole robot thing is genius...and you can totally picture it. Also that picture of falling asleep beneath the flowers...it's just much clearer than what's going on in AT.
Yeah what B-winnizle said is pretty much what we concluded in our debate about a week ago. We pretty much said that Daydreamin' provides a better picture while A.T. provides more descriptive wording

Daydream I fell asleep beneath the flowers For a couple of hours On a beautiful day Daydream I dream of you amid the flowers For a couple of hours Such a beautiful day
Poetry at itz finest+Jill Scott Murdered that instantly...& yez the robot wuz pure genuis by Lu main reason I like em personally made one just imagine the imagery paintz picturez vividly.
Actually I'd go with "Gotta Eat"... The analogy between fast food and the drug game is so unpredictable yet perfectly put together... The metaphors are insane!!
I'd have to say HURT ME SOUL....We forget that Lu' touches on almost every possible issue worldwide. From Brazilian adolescent disarmament to pornographic actress honorin. And everything that is wrong with the world....we as Americans can still find buy chrome 24-inch wheels......
hi. the post says daydreamin' OR american terrorist. Dude didn't say pick a song. He said between the two. Bye.
For my money, I'd have to go with The Cool. Oh wait, what am I talking about I sound like you people. Which is better Blue or Green? Um..Red! Red = the color of ink they use on your homework you fails.
I'd go with daydreamin' out of the 2, it just creates an entire atmosphere. It's a purely descriptive song. A project building as a robot, I can't get the image out of my head.
But "The Cool" I think has better imagery than both of those.
well daydreaming has more imagery because he takes his time to describe the inner workings of the "ghetto, or projects or slums" (take your pick). As he goes along with the song lyrics you can clearly visualize everything that is being said. And as usual he goes in a type of order that draws the listener into the song so you always want to hear what happens next. I could go on more but nahh.
Day Dreamin

ReplyDeleteThey give em cocacola for their property... enough said...
ReplyDeleteOn my 2 cents it would have to be Daydreamin
ReplyDeleteplease don't give jill scott credit for singing a sample...poetry at its finest...its a song that ALREADY existed.
ReplyDeleteHow about "Spray Paint & Ink Pens"? Lu's verse there is insane. When I hear it I feel like I am watching a movie each time.

ReplyDeleteDaydreamin. Everthing creates a picture. Each line.

Can't decide!
ReplyDeleteDaydreamin' - The dude compares daydreamin/sleeping to being plugged into THE MATRIX of hood/environment and popular media.
American Terrorist - Give them Coca Cola for their Proper Tea (property)!!!!
Plus discrimination based on the colour GREEN.
Its a tight call.
Man I can't understand a thing I just wrote. I promise you guys, I can read and type lol.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm just a little too passionate about the song.
Really tough call.
ReplyDeleteI say American Terrorists, for the simple fact that there's more imagery dedicated material.
The last verse is like a slideshow; crazy.
