  3. Tie: Go Go Gadget Flow, The Die, Put
You On Game, Superstar, Little Weapon, Hip-Hop Saved My Life, Streets On Fire, Hello/Goodbye (Uncool), Fighters, Go Baby, Hi-Definition, The Coolest, Blackout, Dumb It Down.

I love both albums.. but I give the nod to The Cool as an overall album.. My 2 favorite songs come off of F&L (Daydreamin' and The Instrumental). Either way.. Can listen to both albums beginning to end time and time again, never get old.

  5. Funny story; I discovered Lupe in December of '07 through a guy I once liked. And the only song he knew was "Superstar". He would come into class with his headphones blaring the song, and would rap like a maniac. So I bought The Cool for him when it dropped. We took a listen and that's when my whole life changed. I began to research EVERYTHING LUPE. Listened to all the Fahrenheit mixtapes, copped Food & Liquor. Never before had I been so in love with an artist as I was with Lupe. Not only did "hip hop save my life" but I honestly owe all my growth to Lupe. I really hope he understands how much he touches people's hearts and souls with his lyrics, how he's changed the way people view things. It's not about the money, the hoes, the cars, all that other bullshit. It's about love, and reality, and perseverence. So I may not have been one of the first Lupe fans, but I've heard probably 99% of his tracks, and I have loved every second of it. I'm a better person because of Lu. I hope one day he knows this.

  7. Got The Cool the moment because of how much I loved Food & Liqour and that was pretty much the only album I actually dropped money for that entire year. Lupe's production got better, his song topics got broader and Lupe sounded more confident as an artist on this album. I can't wait to see what LASERS brings us.

Fave Songs: Go Go Gadget Flow, The Coolest, Gold Watch, Hip-Hop Saved My Life, Dumb It Down, Streets on Fire, Paris Tokyo, Hi-Definition (Mad this one never got a video), Little Weapon and Put You On Game

  8. Damn... Lu broadened my view on life something Nas did but Lu took it to another level. "The Cool" is tied for my favorite album along with "It Was Writtin" and "Food & Liquor." My favorite song of all time is "Streets on Fire" that song made my head explode! Matthew's vocals along with Lu's insane lyrics just killed it.

Can't wait until Christmas for "Friend of the People" and then whenever next year that we're fortunate enough to be blessed with "LASERS"

  10. lol man...

Got my license and my car a couple days before it dropped; and I was supposed to come home right after school, since it was a storm coming...

Went to Target anyways. Got it. And I went CRAZY when "Free Chilly" came on...the rest is self explanatory.

  11. Unlike most Lupe fans, I became a fan late in the game. I remember going on Kanye's blog one day and he posted Tavis Smiley's Lupe interview. The way Lupe spoke of the meaning of the 3 characters "the cool", "the game" and "the streets" intrigued me. I was sold instantly! 2 years later...Hardcore Lupe fan! Some people eat an apple a day, I listen to a Sade and a Lupe song a say,lol...Congrats Lu on a masterpiece! L.A.S.E.R.S. has some big shoes to fill!

  14. My favorite song probably has to be "The Coolest" because it gives a real dark and gloomy feeling plus it sounds like real poetry from someone like Edgar Allen Poe.
And the lyrics have so much meaning in them its fucken amazing.

  15. Lupe,

I think you are the TRUTH. I love rap, and I mean real rap, not this garbage thats out now. You can spit, and you might be the best at it right now..

    Anywho,

The Cool is life changing..it was ahead of its time. Its like you saw how this rap shit was gonna end up with tracks like The Cool, The Die, Put You On To Game. I love your voice, your whole style, and I am so glad that you have remained yourself throughout your career. Real rap fans appreciate your art. I SURE DO!

My favorites on The Cool are: 1. Gold Watch...THATS MY SONG! 2. The Coolest..(the first verse is sick) 3. The Die 4. Put You On To Game 5.Dumb It Down 6. Little Weapon 7. Streets On Fire..

Thank You So Much Lupe! Love U!

  16. I remember sitting in my house complaining about my pre-ordered The Cool CD not being in the mail. It was the 17th, a day before release. So I the remember that I didn't check the mail that day. So I book it to my mailbox and what do you know a package with the CD and the cool t shirt sitting in my mailbox. I snatched it and literally did this sinister giggle as I walked back to my house. I'm preparee to complaing again for Lasers. I'm buyin two copies...until then, can I get Army Girl?!?! Lol.

  19. I have been a Lupe fan since the summer of 2006 when a friend introduced me to a bunch of mixtape songs. I was like "damn, this guy is straight lyrical!"

Fast forward to 2007. The anticipation for "The Cool" was crazy! I was still playing the hell out of Food & Liquor. It was supposed to drop in October of 2007, remember? So I was pumped...but it didn't happen.

Remember when he released it on the MTV website a week before it's official release?! I said to myself that I WOULD NOT listen to it BUT...right when it was posted I sat in my dorm room listening to it on repeat ALL WEEK! The next week I bought the edition with Blackout and the one without.

My girlfriend and I went to see him after listening to Food & Liquor and she fell in love after seeing him perform - I bought "The Cool" for her for one of her Christmas gifts...(makes 3 copies total)

I would not let anyone burn a copy of my CD. I told them to buy it or "if you're going to dl it then you're not getting it from me!" LOL. But Seriously!

Streets on Fire is my favorite track on the album, but I love ALL of the tracks. I can honestly say that there is no Lupe track that I dislike. PERIOD! He has NEVER EVER spit a verse less than FIRE in my opinion, but who am I?!

  20. I liked a couple of songs, it can't match up to Food & Liquor, but it was a nice follow up.

To everyone saying that Lupe "remained himself" must not have heard the unreleased material he did not want us to hear. Lupe is still the same person, he still raps about guns, hoes, and everything. He just does it in a much more classy manner that many people can't comprehend, Lupe is the same person, he just broadened his vocabulary.

  22. Hey guys, the very first time I heard Lupe was when I was struggling in life. I had 2 jobs and was working overtime to support my girlfriend who became pregnant. The Food & Liquor album gave me hope, it touched me so much and i became a different person. I remember to this day playing Food n Liquor while crying in the car looking at myself in the mirror saying i can do this...
Now i have raised a great kid and my wife supports me and Lupe is our favorite artist in the household.

    Thank you Lupe.

  24. I didn't even know the album dropped until the day it dropped. LOL!

The Cool came out at a pretty dark time in my life...and it's crazy because Food & Liquor came out at a happy part of my life. Both albums reflected my mood at the exact time they dropped. lol. I think that's why I connect with his music as much as I do.

I love both albums, but The Cool stuck with me. Even though people prefer F&L over The Cool, The Cool was an album that was just...phenomenal. I rocked to every song except Hi-Definition and The Die. Now, I like both of them. Not my faves, but I rock with them. The Coolest, along with Paris, Tokyo are tied as my favorite songs off that album. I love all of them tho. Plus, I was introduced to Nikki Jean on that album...and that was a good thing because she's extremely talented. I can't wait for her album to drop, along with Lupe's.

I wish you guys here on The LupE.N.D. blog success as Lupe's career goes on...and I wish Lupe success. He's a dope dude :-)

support our artists! don't bootleg or illegally download them.

    peace&blessings.

  26. This is actually the first album I bought of Lu's. I didn't really know Lupe that well until a couple months before The Cool dropped. I was amazed by his wordplay and flow (and the fact that he was from the Chi didn't hurt either haha). So much so, that I downloaded Food & Liquor (i know, i know, terrible, but i had no idea if he was one of those one-hit wonder type of guys). And that's it! After the album dropped, i was in love. the rest is history lol. In fact, it was after i realized that this dude was for real that I went out and bought F&L too. And of course dl'ed all the tapes too. Now I'm like the biggest Lu fan in the room!! lol

  27. I bought the cool the day it came out and at first i didnt think i would like it as much as the first one but this album grew on me and i definitely have some good memories related to it i remember listening to the cool while driving to salt lake city for the glow in the dark concert ... good times :)

  28. To start with...I became a Lupe fan after The Cool dropped. I remember I was in the dorms and a few of my friends told me to listen to him and watch the Dumb It Down video. I did. It didn't hit me as hard. I was riding that Lil Wayne and pussy, money and hoes train. Then Street Kings came out...heard Put You on Game in the trailer for that movie. It kinds intrigued me. I looked around for the track...COULD NOT found it. I didn't even know it was Lupe. Then one day my music was on shuffle and Put You on Game came out...I still remember the smile it brought to my face. haha anyways...
So I started listening to him more and more. Last year, I just started getting attached to his music because I could really relate what he was singing about sometimes. Then one of my friends told me that he has HELLA mixtapes. Right away, I searched on the internet and got all of em. Gave them all a listen and started listening to the official albums again. Now, TRUST ME when I say this...he became my favorite rapper. I could really relate to his songs , life, problems in life, happiness, everything. His songs basically help me get out of anything troubling in life.
Last year, life caught on a bit and I had to made very drastic changes which included moving, considering future goals, leaving friends and just pursuing what my heart told me to. I transfered to a different school in Fall '09. Not lying, I have listened to Lupe Fiasco songs every day I drove to and back from school, when I'm at home, when I'm waiting for class. Anywhere I go, I listen to his songs. People who sit in my car get annoyed but I really don't give a s***. That's 18 weeks of listening to no one else but Lu. He has changed my life and helped me get through so many bad moments that could've really scarred my life.
The Cool? My Favorite. F&L? My favorite.
Hell, right now I'm listening to Intruder Alert. This has gone off topic but owell. I just wanted to share how Lu has managed to be a part of my life without him even ever know it. :)
    FNF UP!
Not mad at you for not dropping LASERS and Friend of the People in Decemeber. I know how it feels when other more important things catch onto with you and your life. Goodluck on the climb and I'll tell me kids about the greatest rapper that influenced my life so much. :)
    Peace.
