Ok soo I just posted like 30 seconds ago that I'm Beamin
was the first single, but I guess its not...
was the first single, but I guess its not...
**UPDATE**
I took the link down... I just seen on Lupe's Blog that I'm Beamin
is hitting iTunes on January 26th...
is hitting iTunes on January 26th...

lmao headline was "I'm beaming is the first single..."
ReplyDeleteI refresh and the headline becomes
"I'm beming is NOT the first single"
aww hell. not this "shining down" shyt agin. drop the firt single already. quit teasin us.
ReplyDeleteSo... Im Beaming isnt the 1st single, nor is Shinning Down (at least thats what lupe said be4) so that makes for 2 tracks that sound pretty hot but arent up their lyrically like usual Lupe = starting to get worried. I excuse singles, but c'mon lu these other tracks gotta come strongggg lyrically...
ReplyDeleteIn all actuality, he has been up to par. Songs like Failure set such a standard for Lupe, but those are for MIXTAPES. Why do you think Wayne has so much trouble making a classic album yet can craft classic mixtapes? Lil' Wayne is a mixtape rapper while Lupe is being both an emcee and an artist. Every song he does can't be an over-your-head spazz section though I'm sure we may see at least one or two on the album.
ReplyDeleteCan we just go 1 day without using Wayne as a comparison to Lu? Idk what it is about Lupe fans but they always feel the need to ALWAYS bring up Wayne in some way whenever Lupe is mentioned...
ReplyDeletethat is all...
(fyi no diss to wayne, just saying the comparison is annoying)
It wasn't intended to be a comparison to Lu, but he's the closest thing I think of when I think "mixtape rapper" (seeing as how he puts out SO many of them). I've got no problem with Wayne other than his best rapper alive claims. He (can) put out some great records.
ReplyDeletefin
Haha your right about the wayne thing.. and I TOLD YOU "Im Beaming" was leaked by ATLANTIC RECORDS for the purpose that people can hear it and get a taste of what Lasers is like so that people will like it start buzzing it up and buy the album! Its been a strategy used in the music industry for quite some time now. If Atlantic records didn't intent to leak it they would of been taken down this music videos on you tube already, think about it.
ReplyDeleteits funny bcz it failed to create buzz bcz Lupe and Atlantic was on the same page. Which is why its released "officially." Just wana clear that up. my uncle works in the music industry.
ReplyDeletewell im buying it even though i got the dl link already
ReplyDeletewhats up with these weak cover art hes been putting out?
ReplyDeleteOh well, I'll buy it on the 26th... haven't heard it yet.
ReplyDeletei like em they are simple and they get the job done
ReplyDelete^^i was talking bout the covers in response to dude that said they are weak
ReplyDeleteWho cares about a cover? Let the music speak for the cover lol
ReplyDeleteBusy needs to stop making artworks lol

ReplyDelete"So apparently Lupe's "I'm Beaming" isn't a single? Not sure why we'd be serviced the record if its not a single. Clarification, @DJBusy?"
ReplyDelete"@djbooth it's cool. we (atlantic) serviced it. let's go! fnf up!!!"
on his twitter...
by the way, follow me @ Twitter.com/mus20
If you are one of the few that realized two songs got leaked, you'd know that "Im beaming" was put out on purpose.
ReplyDeleteThe other...not so much.
"It's déjà vu all over again."
ReplyDeleteAt least something is dropping on my birthday...
So is Im beaming the single? Why else would it be available on iTunes?
ReplyDeleteBusy told me they're doing it like they did for Dumb It Down... so I guess you can consider it a street single...
ReplyDeleteummmm... I have no idea... Expect the unexpected i guess...
ReplyDeleteWe probably would have gotten the single on the 26th had I'm Beaming not leaked last month...
anyone saying that Atlantic leaked it on purpose is stupid..they released it NOW in RESPONSE to an unsolicited leak. The source of the leak is KNOWN and it's def. not Atlantic. FAIL. But I guess...if your "uncle" works in the industry...
ReplyDeleteeveryone is probably wrong
Im confirming that comment ^
ReplyDeleteIf you don't believe it, then its whatever, but I AM confirming that anonymous comment
It will be purchased :D
ReplyDeleteJust for the sake of argument goes, every record label tries to maximize profits, why would a huge record company such as Atlantic not take legal action on bloggers and youtubers that are releasing his material?
ReplyDelete^^ because the amount of legal work that actual goes into that is not cost effective. That was a silly statement. First of all, the first step, which is a C&D, WAS taken. But to track down the exact source of a leak is not exactly a fruitful labor. That being said, how do YOU know what the Atlantic Records legal department did and did not do??
ReplyDeleteOh.. I forgot about your uncle again. My b.
But...just so you know, posting it on a blog is not illegal unless you directly ignore a C&D. Filesharing on Napster and things like that are illegal for a different reason. All a legal company can do, in the first phase is tell you not to put the song on your blog, youtube, etc. If that is broken, legal action can be taken, but the ammount recouped would be nominative damages (versus punitive damages in a Napster case) and would be not only damn near impossible to prove, but almost next to nothing.
NexT!
I kinda like the leaked version more than this version
ReplyDeleteThats bs. when army girl leaked it disappeared with the QUICKNESS. They didnt take the same actions for Im Beaming.
ReplyDeleteducktales.
^^ the same actions were taken for both. Army girl leaked AFTER, so the steps taken by Atlantic better controlled that leak. But I dare you to find me an ORIGINAL post of I'm Beaming that was from that first day..
ReplyDeleteFuck(you)tales
explain all the original uploads on youtube being there and any army girl uploads gone.
ReplyDeleteno need to say fuck you over entertainment.

ReplyDeleteHa! Cost effective? For a multimillion dollar Record label?? Are you kidding me.. Trust me, Atlantic used these bloggers and youtubers to advertise for them. Thats why they didnt take it off, they wanted to create a BUZZ. Army Girl was not intended to be leaked which is the reason why they removed it quickly. C'mon dont think these record labels aren't trying to maximize profits. They dont even tell the artist these things. The shit about "things get leaked bcz a friend tells a friend" is a stupid myth that makes no sense. & For your information my uncle is a content and asset management director, we had this discussion already, so be %100 sure your right before you dismiss my argument as such.
ReplyDeleteDID ANYBODY SEE THE YOUTUBE VIDEO ABOUT THE RETURN OF GEMSTONES??? HE DID A SHOW IN CHICAGO ON THE 13TH...
ReplyDeletesoooo anybody wanna send me army girl? #jussayin lol
ReplyDeletedid Gemstones put out an album??
ReplyDeleteunnecessary arguing.. whats done is done, #Lasers comes out this year!!! =]
ReplyDelete@mus20 - noone dissed your argument. You are legally and factually wrong.
ReplyDeleteFIRST - according to the end user agreements of both blogger and youtube, everything posted is technically under the controlled dominion of each respective company. That being said, you can't "sue" a blogger. You'd have to sue the company blogspot. Suing youtube or blogger is EXTREMELY stupid.
SECOND - to FIND the source of a leak and sue that one person is not cost effective, even for a multimillion dollar company. Again, turning to the argument you ignored, they'd spend 10s of 1000s of $ to find it and MAYBE get $1000 in damages. MAXIMIZING profit means you don't spend dollars to get pennies back.
THIRD - both songs disappeared. Army Girl did so quicker because it leaked later. It doesn't matter what you think, but a record label wouldn't leak an unmastered version of a song and then take it down JUST to create the buzz of a leak. They could've easily leaked the master. You'd have a somewhat decent argument for Shining Down, but not for this. Since Army Girl and This record came from the same source who also had 2 older unreleased Lupe records (from before atlantic so poor argument) it's safe to say the leak wasn't authorized.
You lose. I don't care what your uncle does and what conversation you had. If my uncle is a rocket scientist and we have a chat about rockets over tea and crumpets, that doesnt give me carte blanche to fly to the moon, now does it?
Legally and situtional factually you are incorrect.
Thanks for playing, but to quote Jay-Z can we get on...well, you know.

ReplyDeleteYou may be right as far as the terms and agreements, idk and honestly i dont care enough to sit here & read them. But how are you going to say that im "factually" wrong, unless you work for Atlantic and can prove that they didn't leak the track.. What i said was my opinion on who leaked it. You think otherwise, thats your opinion. Cool, now we're done.
ReplyDelete#Lasers coming soon!! ^_^
ReplyDeleteI dont need a first single
ReplyDeletei need a thirst verse
fix the quench like a wrench
i need treatment, where’s the nurse
but hip hops in the hearse
and lupe is the nurse
i know i need to stay patient,
grit my teeth hard,
whilst my tongue is trying to curse
Haha, im playing
Someone tell Busy/Atlantic to start creating real covers. Niggas did the same "design" for Shining Down and EOTS, smh.
ReplyDelete^yeh man, im not feelin the covers either.. its like... less than minimilistic lol. .
ReplyDelete" So... Im Beaming isnt the 1st single, nor is Shinning Down (at least thats what lupe said be4) so that makes for 2 tracks that sound pretty hot but arent up their lyrically like usual Lupe = starting to get worried. I excuse singles, but c'mon lu these other tracks gotta come strongggg lyrically..."
ReplyDeleteShining Down isn't up to par lyrically? Go listen again after you google a breakdown and you might have to change your mind. Besides, like ohters have said, it'd be lame if Lupe just got super deep, "secret code/you need to go wrack your brain looking this up" for EVERY song he put out. I'm Beaming is a dope tune that anyone can understand, yet Lupe is still being dope lyrically without going over your head. With that said I love his deep songs like Dumb It Down, Failure, and Fire.
Yeah i take back what i said about the whole "isnt lyrically up to par" that enemy of the state mixtape spoiled the shit outta me haha. but when i look back at food & liqour and The Cool your right he did have alotta tracks that were more straight forward than very complex. These tracks are still dopee tho.
ReplyDeleteI like it but it just doesnt feel like a Lupe beat. Im diggin the piano part tho. Its not a big deal if he doesnt go lyrical on some songs but as long as we get 2 or 3lyrically insane songs on the album I'm satisfied i wont mind if he goes left on some tracks too
ReplyDeleteEveryone is crazy, I think I'm beaming is amazing...
ReplyDeletewhy do i feel like that cover was made on microsoft word lol
ReplyDeleteAMAZING TRACK. LIKE THE DIRECTION.
ReplyDeleteITS NOT ALWAYS NECESSARY TO LYRICALLY KILL EVERY SONG!
HE WASNT GOING FOR THAT ON THIS SONG.
HE WAS TRYING TO BRING OUT A MOOD IN THE SONG FOR THE FANS TO UNDERSTAND WHERE HE'S GOING NOW. HE FOUND HIS LANE.
If my uncle is a rocket scientist and we have a chat about rockets over tea and crumpets, that doesnt give me carte blanche to fly to the moon, now does it?
ReplyDelete-anonymous
Buahahahahaha that JUST MADE MY DAY!
