Fresh from a climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for clean drinking water, Lupe Fiasco, Kenna, Santigold and other climbers are expected to join Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) at a screening of the “Summit on the Summit” documentary on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. today.
Blumenauer is an avid hiker, so he'll have plenty to talk about with the group of celebs that hiked the mountain in Tanzania as part of Summit on the Summit in January of this year.
In what will no doubt disappoint a few male staffers, actress Jessica Biel is unable to make it, despite having participated in the climb.

Interesting: Lupe's comment after visiting a Maasai village in January:
ReplyDelete"I really wanna go home today and go to Washington and kick a door in, you know, to climb the mountain that is Capitol Hill and summit on the desk of the speaker of the house and give him a glass of this water and throw it in his face, cause there's no excuse for this.
