  24. Am I The Only One Who Thinks "Friend Of The People" Is coming very soon! If it does, Lupe needs to release it before Lasers, so he can get a 2010 takeover started before the end of the year! This freestyle was definitely from Lu's heart. He went too hard. Seems like he spilled all his anger that was inside him into this freestyle.

Note To Atlantic Records: Release Of LASERS = Release Of Real Hip Hop

  25. Love the petition fellas, I signed that shit real early too. This goes to show THE POWER HAS ALWAYS BEEN WITH THE PEOPLE. Push peace and positivity by living it.

  26. Pro = Prolyfic, Lupe's old producer. He put him on blast on Twitter

And I kinda agreed with Pro on some points. Lupe do be on some bullshit.

Lupe, you made the mistake and signed a contract with Atlantic. Finish that shit out however they want you to, then get back to making music you want to independently, drop some mixtapes, or whatever.

    I miss the old Lupe...

  30. wow dis joint is tough! good shit lupe!

...and Bshrop, i peeped Pro's tweets and I saw all of the things he was sayin. jus like you i agree wit him on sum points. Reading his tweets got me thinkin, Lupe never had a problem releasing Food & Liquor and The Cool wen sum of the songs leaked, and he was still with Atlantic back then, so really, what has changed? I'm stuck tryna figure out why Lupe hasn't really been gettin the push he deserves since The Cool came out. It seems as tho Atlantic is waiting for Lupe. He needs that big buzz that he had with Fahrenheit 1/15: Revenge of the Nerds. He should get back on that flow. I mean, nothing is wrong wit rappin over the south beats, personally i think its dope as hell wen he does it. but, it seems to me that Atlantic is waiting for Lupe to get that buzz back like he had before Food & Liquor came out. It will be 3 years this december since The Cool was released. Thats a long time. and its not like he's been jus sittin around, I know he's been in the studio working hard as hell. I never thought of it this way before, I used to be all furious with Atlantic but I'm not that furious anymore. Yea, they still need to help promote his songs, especially I'm Beamin and Shining Down. they hardly did any promo for that. Lupe is without a doubt my fav rapper, number one on my list. I think, if Lupe were to release Friend of the People mixtape, he should be on the same shit he was on like when he did Failure and Dumb It Down. thats just my opinion...

S.N: You all have to stop sayin Gemstones doesn't fuck with Lupe anymore lol. I watched an interview that Gemstones did last month when he was at a radio station, he said "Lupe has my number, he knows where I'm at. Nothing has changed, still the same number, same place in Chicago." and he said "Theres no hard feelings that I have towards him at all. I will always be FNF at heart." They must have had a lil fall out but it's not beef or anything like that. Gemstones said he'd be more than happy to get back in the studio with Lupe. He said "When we are in the studio together, and its two brilliant minds on a track together, its a guaranteed hit. thats automatic" I think they need to get back in the studio together bcuz its crazy when they are in the studio together working. I'm a friend of his on facebook, yall can add Gemstones on there. jus search "GemstonesFNF" and you'll find him.

  31. Prolyfic is what he said he is, a bitter fan. He sounds hella ignorant. Lupe has always gone left so why stop now? The world, and hip hop community especially, need an album like Lasers. How are you going to hate on a man for being different? And, trying to make a difference? Simple minded people like Prolyfic, and the heads of the music industry are what are holding Lupe back, not good music. He wants Lupe to make a hit, have you heard what are hits these days?

  37. they just posted that yesterday after this petition it is something new. before this Lupe was saying it was coming soon that's old. now Atlantic is saying its coming soon after the petition and months of Lupe talking to them now that's new, and that's some good news to.

  38. ^ I don't really think it's big news either...Busy already said back in April that it's coming

and they've been telling us it's coming (soon) for such a long time now...

They had to react somehow cause I'm sure they didn't really like to get phone calls every 5 minutes from people asking about the album..lol!

    MY
    GOSH!!
I'm mad because I'm so late on this! But thank you for more new Lupe... I'd rather he switch up his flow than his message so I'm fine with the flow. This is GOOD ISH!

Man.... Lupe the killa all. day. long.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "nigga flow"? Come on. Lu is definately doing it on purpose. Just to show that you can switch flow but still keep the personality and positivity. That's exactly what "Swich - the science project" was all about.
Can anyone even remember any mc recently to have used the "ignorant flow" and still kept the message on point?

By the way SeanTheRobot, your doing a great job but can you please have a daily #wewantlasers entry to show/update/direct us on what the movement is upto. I know Atlantics knows, but We want a date. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  44. yeah you don't want lupe doing the same flow on every song like "same flow every song no matter what the song is about drake" over there

    ReplyDelete
  45. Lupe needs to stick to his original flow...example, F&L... Its called distinguish ya dig!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ignorant flow? N**ga flow? Man wtf. I don't know about you but calling a person's way of riding their own track "ignorant" is straight STUPID. Call it the Rick Ross flow cause that's what it is.

And the only reason no one is feeling this Lupe flow is because Lupe did a HORRID job on it. He did not pull off the job. This is just a little rant from me, but god Lupe...if you can't replicate a flow...DON'T DO IT. That stuff is embarrassing. Lyrics aside, Lupe sounded a fool. The original BMF is way more entertaining than this. But that's not saying much since the OG was already raw.

    ReplyDelete
  47. pssht rafael rick ross b.m.f sucks the lyrics and the flow sucks
and lupe did pull it off
    he replicated it perfectly
its just the rick ross flow sucks period and being that its lu doing make it seem worse than it actually is

    ReplyDelete
  48. LISTEN TO TH LYRICS!! THERES SOOO MUCH TRUTH IN THIS SONG! DIREC ATTACK AT PROLYIFIC RICK ROSS AND THE ILLUMINATI!!

"SHAKE OFF THE MASTERS/ PRAY TO GOD AND BUILD YOUR MINDS FASTER"

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think the purpose of this track was to prove a point to Prolyfic that he shouldn't be focusing on making hits for the industry. Look how much more engaging his tracks are compared to this. He dumbed down his flow to show how he is on a different level. Hearing this flow from Lupe you immediately are thrown off because you expect more personality and more intricate rhyme schemes. You get a big realization of how much more talented he is than dudes who put out hits rapping like this. Lupe's not gonna make music like them. That's my take on the track. And like other's have said lyrics are still dope as always.

Yo, peep this homie. This is just a little thing from Talib Kweli that I read read that I found interesting and actually pretty true. Spread love, don't throw it all at just one artist. Love always shines.

''I have been working on my new album, Prisoner Of Conscious since the summer began. It is a title I have had floating in my head for quite some time, but it is even more relevant right now. Hip Hop is like bipartisan politics these days. Everyone chooses sides and argues for the sake of the argument, not to actually achieve any clarity.

I am a man and an artist of the people. When I say that, I do not just mean people I agree with, people who understand me or people I can relate to. I mean the people in the truest sense of the term. This philosophy, although professed by many intellectuals, is lost on them. They would rather judge the masses as a foolish body, greatly in need of their intellectual musings. Any public figure who attracts a crowd of people should be examined, and if they are smart about their business they are to be respected. Respect transcends personal taste, you can and often should respect your enemy.

Now I don't know Mychal Smith, but what I do know is he is a blogger that follows me on Twitter, and I guess my decision to record with Gucci Mane bothered him enough to blog about it, declaring my move a part of the demise of the conscious rapper.

I offer a different take. I say people like Mychal Smith are every bit as caught up in the flashing lights as the "ignorant" masses they like to judge. Instead of celebrating it, they get joy from speaking against it. They truly believe not liking Gucci Mane makes them intellectually superior to say, some chic down south. They pay so much attention to what they perceive to be negative, based on a limited world view, that they miss the positive, even when it's right in their face.''

    ReplyDelete
  51. yeah but rafael that has nonthing to do with what i said i said ross flow and lyrics sucks
i didnt say anything about ignorance "the demise of the conscious rapper" or being smarter than rick ross fans so yeah......
