Here's the official cover art for Lupe's upcoming 3rd album 'Lasers' which drops on March 8th 2011. What do you think? I love it! [Click on the cover for a HQ version!]
very simple yet very cool. i have to admit.. i was expecting something a little different. neither of the first 2 albums have had simple designs and this one may be a sign of whats to come on the album. minimalist, bare bones lupe. which for the record is not bad, just different. and i agree with the comment above about bp3. i can definatly see similarities.
I wasn't born on the banana boat yesterday, of COURSE I know that damn near every rap album has Parental Advisory.
I'm just sayin, Lupe Fiasco x Parental Advisory has always just seemed odd to me.
I come from a strict household, and growing up my mom wouldn't dare buy me an album with that label on it. (I bought Ja Rule's first album and she almost killed me) But I almost feel like our youth NEED to hear it, to open their eyes.
But then again, I guess that's what the clean versions are for.
Dope. Please don't buy the clean version. People hear curses all the time on the street or with friends its just made a big deal when its on tv and in music especially rap. P.S. don't you guys hate when you hear a clean song then when you get the album its totally different? Lmao its like a fukin remix. LASERS.
i know luella is not suggesting that somehow the FCC is trying to silence lupe...
and um...kids use itunes bro, and download music...pretty sure noones "parents" monitor their music anymore. kids have cellphones and macbooks...it's not 1990
Tutankhamun has come and will settle the tides. I believe one party mentioned the "Parental Advisory" label, in attempt to express the belief that Lupe's words are words needed to be heard by all, no matter the age. That although the message is brash and sometimes vicious, it shouldn't be sheltered from those considered "innocent" because they will be limited from knowing the "true world." Basically, no one can possibly be negatively influenced from "Destroy the fucking establishment" verses "I move coke, I'll blast a nigga with the nine." :) I for one was certain the perhaps now "unofficial" cover( black, dark black stripe in middle) would be chosen. But I see, that the bulbs are used to symbolize the light of the "L.A.S.E.R.S.", something that didn't seemed achieved with the "first one."; Which was probably made by a fan.
My last thoughts: "Right Click + Set As Desktop Background + Copy Image" *proceed to post on every square inch of the Net* :)
the old back one was basically official. it look very similar to the art for the shining down and im beamin singles which were supposed to the singles for lasers.
^^ yes that is weird that your buying 2 albums. how about buy one and give the other 15 bucks to charity... unless you consider lupe a charity case....
lupes first two album covers were different and awesome but not lets focus on the cover its just that. hopefully he comes out with an alternate cover or something most artists do nowadays.
Maybe I'm not the first to notice this, but now that I'm really looking closely at how the "A" is crossing out the "O" in the word "LASERS", it's unmistakably the anarchy symbol. Look it up.
I guess Lupe wasn't kidding when he said this album would be controversial. I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteKids don't buy the clean version of everything. Go outside, you can hear 6 year olds rapping entire Lil Wayne ablums line for line.
ReplyDelete^ agree.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried to listen to "The Die" clean? It's like "they got ???? and a bunch of ???? semi automatic weapons that produce Ka-pows" lol

ReplyDeletelove the cover. but are they seriously changing EVERYTHING about this album thats been done for 2 YEARS????
ReplyDelete^^ what do you mean? there has never been an official cover.
ReplyDeletethe old back one was basically official. it look very similar to the art for the shining down and im beamin singles which were supposed to the singles for lasers.
ReplyDelete^^ it wasn't official
ReplyDeleteHas anyone noticed that this is the same design that is on the Lasers T-shirts released about 6 months ago.
ReplyDeleteHence, the cover must have been decided by Lupe before the album even got a release date.
awesome. it's rebellion. public unrest. the A says it all. shaking up the establishment (losers).
ReplyDeletewhy did you delete my post!?
ReplyDeleteWell, if the one with Lupe on it is fan made, then that fan is sure lucky. That art embodies it.
ReplyDeleteThat t-shirt did give us a hint. Not surprised he went with it as the cover.
is it normal that im going to get the album like two times!? Buying it off itunes and a CD store I dont care! LOVE THE ALBUM COVER!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! SO PUMPED!!
