i dont know if the hook is as good as it could be, but those of you saying the beat isn't good are on crack...this is one of the dopest beats i've heard lu spit on in a looong while
this song is perfect, I thought it would be OD aggressive but that fact that it wasn't made it THAT much better.
oh and Kanye & Jay should take notes on how to incorporate opera singers in their songs cause this is an example of epic win and HAM is an example of epic fail.

Hip hop saved my life is probably one of lures best iconic beats. My friend told me there's one song he loved off the cool. And I knew it was that song.
All black everything beat does feel to have that control. Then again I could be wrong. But this song didn't have a good impression on me through the first listen. Considering how jay and kanye make hot records id be embarrassed to tell them this is my best and favorite song.

Super dope song.as soon as the beat dried I was blown. And lupe makes good hooks .this is one of those songs where you look past the hook and think about the lyrics.dope concept too
TheOriginalName I'm glad you agree about GemStones. i don't know what type of relationship he has with Lu, but Lu is missing the hooks that Gem provided. Heck Matt Santos would've been better than Lu on the hook. Even though that would be ironic.

I want to like this song a lot, but it doesn't do that much for me. Maybe expectations were too high. The lyrics are not all that deep and the way he spits some of them... it's not a smooth flow. Beat is dope. Idea is dope. Song is great. But not a classic. It feels too short, especially the last verse. Y'all are right, Gemstones might have taken it to another level.
