Lupe Fiasco contemplates making a sequel to "The Cool"!

With Part 1 of Food & Liquor 2 on its way, Lupe just took to Twitter and announced some very interesting tentative plans for his next album:
LF's F&L2 GARA: 1-2...then what??? I really wanna do COOLER...what y'all think? Hmmmm decisions x 2...The Cooler would be fresh though...guess we'll see...till then... #AroundMyWay
He also posted THIS pic and toyed with the idea of finally dropping his long anticipated triple disc project instead. So what do you think, The Cooler or LupE.N.D? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

My Shining Down Theory

As most of you know, Lupe has been continuously teasing the world with the snippet of Shining Down, well I started to think and I have a theory. Here is the Snippet again:

As you notice, it's the same snippet that you've probably heard a hundred times, the same snippet that's probably playing on your iPod as you read this, the same snippet that is taking over all these blogs. Everyone seems to be excited over what the actual verse may sound like and I started to think, hmmmm could it be possible that the verse is right in front of us?

This is footage from down here at Indiana University when Lupe and Bishop G performed "New Shit" (1:05), has anyone else noticed (those who have recently seen Lupe perform) that he doesn't perform this song anymore?

Could it be because this was a song intended for lupEND and that he is saving it? Well maybe, but then again Shining Down was originally mentioned before "The Great American Album/Lasers" was announced, so why save that song but release Shining Down?

Could it be possible that "New Shit" is the same song
(with a different beat of course) as Shining Down?

Just something for you all to think about.

lupEND postponed????

This was posted by Lupe this morning on the FNF Army site:

1st Disc From lupEND To Drop in Fall of 2009

This guy, who visited the Lupe concert
at the University of Maryland yesterday, says:

"Everywhere" from LupEND drops Fall 2009. You didn't really think
all three would come out at the same time, did you?

CherryOs, who was at the concert, too also confirmed that
Lupe said that "Everywhere" will be dropping in Fall of '09.

If he drops them all seperately it's actually more like
we are getting 3 albums instead of getting one, right ?

: -)

While waiting for a video of that announcement, check out 2
performances from the same night.

Kick, Push

Lupe Fiasco Live In Chicago - GWHH Review

The whole GWHH Crew was in the building yesterday,
they just put a review online, check it out:

L.U.P.End will be Lupe Fiasco’s last album… Oh, you already knew that, but the shocking news… L.U.P.End will be an unprecedented TRIPLE album!!! The ‘E’ stands for Everywhere, the ‘N’ for Nowhere, and the ‘D’ for Down Here. (Can we get a ‘G’ somewhere in there for Gowhere, Lu? Haha..)

Wow. Unreal. I flipped out along w/ the rest of the GWHH fam (Max G., Mr. Music, LA, S-Preme, limrik) and am no longer salty that L.U.P.End will be Lu’s last album, haha. As for the show itself, Lupe outdid himself again, simply put. He came out with a chilling introduction, helped created by a live band, complete with a horns section, keys, and an orchestra!

The eerie start turned into an energetic performance of “Kick, Push”, which he then followed up even stronger with “Hip Hop Saved My Life” with Sarah Green filling in for Nikki Jean on the chorus. My favorite performance of the night has to go to “Streets On Fire”, which Lupe set up perfectly with the “Tonight…” line and Matthew Santos came on to kill that one. I had chills. Lupe was spittin’ word for word with clarity and his usual intense Chicago flow not only on “Streets On Fire” but throughout the entire show, even goin’ an approximate 20 seconds without taking a breath on the 2nd verse of “Go Go Gadget Flow”.

Lupe Fiasco's lupEND Album Will Be A 3 Disc Set !

pic via James Kachan

Like I previously told you, S-Preme is at Lupe's concert
in Chicago right now, and after we found out about
Lupe's live CD/DVD set, some minutes ago,

Lupe just announced that his
"lupEND" album will be a 3-Disc set !

He said:
"It ain't just gonna be one album,
there are going to be 3 ! It'll be a triple CD !"

CRAZY !!! That's like at least 30 tracks, right ?

Update:

The 3 discs will be called :

Everywhere

Nowhere

Down Here

and together they'll form "lupE.N.D."

Sounds like a cool concept !

Big props to S-Preme, the anonymous person in the comments
and Illy_Paxson from the hypebeast forums

Details About Lupe Fiasco's Special Announcement

I guess you all know that Lupe Fiasco will make a special announcement on October 31st. When Lupe first mentioned this at the concert he gave for the Kent State University, the video of the speech wasn't complete so we haven't been able to hear everything he said.

mistermidwest216 from KanyeLive was at the concert and
says that Lupe said something like this:

"When I told people lupEND would be my last album, I also said it would be the greatest album ever. I am doing something completely new and different, that hasn't really been done before and it's something people wouldn't expect. On Halloween we gonna make a special announcement telling you what that kinda special thing is."

As soon as this announcement takes place we'll have it on here!
Make sure to check back in on Friday night !

Lupe Fiasco At KSU - Review / Announcement

Lupe Fiasco played at the Kent State University yesterday...
below there's a review of the show.

Winslow, a local Kent band that was said to have won the KSU battle of bands in 2006 and some other battle of bands in 2007, as well as coverage on MTVU or something opened the show. They were O.A.R.-like but more jazzy. The band, itself sounded good and worked pretty well together but the lead singer had a terrible voice and did not fit well at all with the band I thought. They covered a Michael Jackson classic (which I can't remember but it actually wasn't a terribly cliche one to cover) and murdered it. The crowd wasn't in to them at all and every one just wanted Lupe Fiasco.

This was my third time seeing Lupe Fiasco and it was great. He has a very good backing band and he was just as good. The love renditions of most of the songs sound different than they do on the record due to the backing band but it is a nice and welcomed, good change. Lupe gets really in to the show, moves around, jumps, dances and has a great time on stage. They only played the first two verses of Sunshine and segued in to I Gotcha and only did the first verses of Dumb It Down which was kind of a disappointment.

At this point of the show Lupe talked to the crowd about his next album, lupEND and how he's going out on that but said to keep an eye on the blogs, websites and MySpaces because on October 31 there will be a big announcement which everyone will be "shocked" about and then he went in and performed what felt like an improve/freestyle of a new song, which could be great.

The classic rendition at the end of Paris, Tokyo was awesome like always. Then Uncle Chucc performed his "own" song which I figured was titled My Angel (it's actually called "Angels" and you can hear it here) and he had quite a good voice. Before Daydreamin' Lupe talked to the crowd for a really long time about voting ("A vote for Obama is a vote for the future!" "A vote for McCain is a vote for the past!" "But voting for who yourself think you should is the best vote!") and he went on about how everyone needs to wake up, live their lives to the fullest, realize what is going on in the world, and to pretty much just wake to everything and they ended up stretching the song out really long and making it a lot more heavier, passionate, and effective (even though it always is) live and was a great closer even if it was a bit long.

Setlist:
Kick, Push
Hip Hop Saved My Life
Sunshine
I Gotcha
Go Go Gadget Flow
Dumb It Down
Freestyle/New Song Improv
Hi-Definition
Paris, Tokyo
Angels - Uncle Chucc
Superstar
Daydreamin'

He played for around an hour and fifteen minutes and I was left wanting more. The setlist was good but it wasn't as if he played stuff he doesn't normally play but that did not effect how good the set was. They also did have some good light work and the crowd was definitely in to it the whole set. If you like hip-hop and/or respect a good live show, go see Lupe Fiasco.

I Want Katy Perry To Collaborate With Lupe Fiasco

So many people are talking about
possible artists Lupe could work with on lupEND.

I thought about it and I made up my mind....
first I thought Kanye or Bloc Party would be cool.
(would still be cool)

But if I could choose one artist
out there that should work with Lupe,
I'd take Katy Perry.

Just imagine both of them on a track...
no one would really expect that but if you ask me,
I think something great could come out of it.

Listen to the song below and think about it.

Lupe Fiasco Talks About His VMA Outfit And Leaving The Game

Miss Info asked Lupe about his VMA outfit
here's what he had to say:

Lupe also talked with rap-up.com about leaving the game.

“I just don’t really feel like rapping anymore,” Lupe admitted.
“I’m going to write a book and put out [other artists’] albums like Matthew Santos.”

Sadly, he stands by his word and claims it’s not another Jay-Z episode.

The “Superstar” rapper says he hasn’t even started recording the new album yet.He will begin work next year.
