Pics: Lupe Fiasco in Overthrown Junta

Previously, we posted about Lupe's new clothing line, Overthrown Junta. Now, HypeBeast comes through with an inside look at the new line.

Here's what they had to say:
Lupe Fiasco has launched a camo-leather based capsule collection for his fashion line, Trilly and Truly, called “Overthrown Junta”; the line was co-designed by Marisol Martinez, and was produced at the storied New-York-based leather house, Coyote Leather.

The line is a celebration of Fiasco’s love for the iconoclasm of punk rock, melded with his opinionated stance on war and peace. First featured on Esquire Magazine’s style blog, penned by noted fashion editor Josh Peskowitz, Fiasco’s capsule collection features both a leather motorcycle jacket, called “Malcolm” for $4,000, and a leather motorcycle vest, called “Martin” for $3000.

Overthrown Junta is also slated to launch a small run of leather portage goods, likely before the close of 2010. Overthrown Junta by Trilly and Truly can currently be found at RSVP Gallery in Chicago, with new retail accounts to be added in the near future at top-tier, ultra-premium retailers.

Lupe Fiasco's Trilly & Truly Leather Jackets

Esquire's Style Blog got an exclusive look at a new Trilly & Truly collection. Here's what they had to say:

Lupe has a clothing line, called Trilly and Truly. What might come as a surprise is that he and co-designer Marisol Martinez are putting together the beginnings of a high-end collection that will resonate far beyond Fiasco's typical fan base.

The Style Blog got an exclusive look at the first two pieces of this new collection, called Overthrown Junta by Trilly and Truly. And while the name is a mouthful, the classic leather motorcycle jackets (with a camouflage twist) are a sight for sore eyes.

Overthrown Junta will be hitting RSVP Gallery in Chicago in the next three weeks.

illRoots Profile: Lupe Fiasco's Trilly & Truly

To follow up their profile with Ibn Jasper, illRoots caught up with Lupe Fiasco on set of the recent RSVP Gallery lookbook video shoot for Trilly & Truly’s Basic Info.

For the Spring/Summer run of merchandise, Lupe decided to stick with a simplistic theme that focused more around iconic imagery than complex design.

A true innovator in both fashion and music, Lupe goes in depth on his clothing line, how he separates the two and what he hopes people will take from it. - illRoots

Trilly & Truly Summer 2010 Line

The Trilly & Truly S/S 2010 collection is titled, Basic Info, stemming from a desire to be as simple as possible; to express the basic ideas; to extract any unneeded complexity; an overall retreat to the basic. With 3 polos, 3 pants, and 3 tees, the collection is "basic" as labeled, but with elements that make each item stand apart on it own.

Trilly & Truly - Lightning Gave Them Life

In his latest blog entry, Le Messie explained where the T&T logo came from:

Lupe’s more accessible lil sibling brand Trilly & Truly has been making it’s rounds everywhere and I’m honoured that an old logo of mine from an old brand project (remember C.O.R Children Of the Revolution) is the main brand identity used as it’s face! It’s called the “Law” logo and Lupe knighted it with the quote lightning gave them life”.
