Mixtape: Charles Hamilton - Sober Karaoke

Now some of you MAY already have this mixtape due to it leaking roughly 2 months ago, but since it never received an "official release", I figured we throw this up to those who may not have it yet. Sober Karaoke is Charles's SECOND album, meaning it's been sitting in the vaults for a good minute, but nonetheless, it's dope! See below:

If you like what you heard, then follow this LINK for the full project and prepare yourself for the official return of Sonic VERY soon ;)

Charles Hamilton Will NOT Perform With Lupe @ Holy Cross

Straight from Charles' Blog:

Moving along, I regret to inform y'all I won't be doing the show with Lupe (on April 28th), because of... well, I said I got a new staff right? All up-and-coming artists, opportunities kick ass when you're presented with them, but KNOW the circumstances of which such opportunities are placed on the table.

And because VERY important things weren't made clear to me, I'm just gonna fall back. But Lazers, chill. Me and Lupe WILL perform together, SOOOOOON.

Right Lu?

Charles Hamilton: "..Lupe Is Bigger Than Hip Hop.."

What up Charles?

Yesterday Charles posted a list of a few CDs that are mandatory for Hip Hop head's to listen to and he received criticism for not posting Lupe Fiasco on the list, well here's what he had to say about that:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chill. I didn't say that. Yesterday's list reflected
mandatory listening for all hip-hop heads.

Lupe is bigger than hip-hop.

Lupe is a part of the new crop of urban expression that I call Nu-Hop. I'm sure you guys witnessed me talk about it before. But really, Nu-Hop is an urban spin on all things music. Ne-Yo kinda got the gist of it when he did "Irreplaceable". Country-meets-808.

Basically, Lu, Asher, BoB, Cudi, Sciryl... all young musical risktakers who are as hood as it gets, are pretty much Nu-Hop. Disagree if you want, it's just what I want to say.

So that's for that.

There you have it, big shout out to Sonic, his Album drops this summer so make sure you go out and get that. The album is called "This Perfect Life".

Charles Hamilton Clears The Air - Once And For All

This goes out to all the people who say that they don't like
Charles Hamilton because he "dissed" Lupe.

Here's Charles explanation:

Before I got the deal, I recorded two songs that mentioned Lupe's name, in a manner that led some Lu fans to believe I'm coming at him. The songs were "Unapologetic" and "No Escaping My Nuts".

Allow me to explain each line and clear the air once and for all so the public will never utter "beef", Charles Hamilton and Lupe Fiasco ever again.

In "Unapologetic", I said "I'm sorry my lines is something that you ain't get. But I do make sense. Fuck all that Lupe shit."

In label meetings, they used to compare me to Lupe, talking about their inability to understand my bars, image, etc. Every time a label person would say that, I would play "Unapologetic" out of spite right after they said it.

They got tight, I got the last laugh.

On "No Escaping My Nuts", I said "no love for the fiasco like A Tribe Called Quest." I wrote the song after the Hip Hop Honors event of which Lupe messed up ATCQ lines. I was tight because the media made Lupe out to be the bad guy after (no need to rehash the situation). I felt Lupe had a right to speak his mind (just as I) and it was a fiasco that he was getting railroaded in hip-hop for his opinion.

No love for the fiasco like A Tribe Called Quest.

No beef with me and Lu, didn't come at him, unfortunate misunderstanding, and I hope we (me and anyone who is opposed to me because of this misunderstanding) can get past this.
